hello,
im 6'1 and 90kgs and ride a 155 GNU danny kass BTX rocker board.is the monster energy special edition one.
BUT basically i find that in powder it sinks unless im absolutely booting it and i have no comfort in it. i Was thinking of going something a bit bigger like 157 as i want an all mountain board...
i enjoy the park but also wanna be able to head off up the pistes and off pistes and enjoy myself without worrying about the terrain. any suggestions??
Thanks in advance,
John |

at 6' 1" I'd say a 155 is the shortest you should ever go...
I don't know this exact board, but the fact that it's a "rocker" (a great way to admit you can't butter try harder on a normal board!) i'm guessing it's a park board, therefore quite soft and not designed to ride in pow pow!
Treat yourself to a longer, stiffer board, offset your stance towards the rear rather than centrally too as this will help keep the noes of the board from digging in.
Much love! |

it's nothing to do with how tall you are. a board hasn't got eyes, it doesn't see you coming and think CRAP! HE'S TALL!!!!
it's all about weight, each board has got a specific weight range all worked out according to the shape and geometry of the sidecut. so you will ride different sizes in different boards. do not just take the fact you ride a 155 now so you should ride that in all boards.
look at a boards' specs and you will see the weight range per size. you ideally want to sit in the middle of the weight range. they don't have height ranges funnily enough...............
now just have a look at boards that suit the kind of riding you want to do and then go demo some. |
