Okay, so the last thread was rightly locked as it's title was about the date for the WB, this is just about getting there and back...

I am seriously thinking about the eurostar over flying... but just not all the way to bourg, you can get off in Paris and change to the TGV which gets you about 30 minutes drive from Morzine...

There are so many regulations and restrictions on baggage now I can't be bothered with flying!

Is anyone else still thinking about the star or is everyone else flying now?

Definately flight for me. But was looking at later returns on the Sunday to get an extra day in.

But then the transfer bus times wouldnt work.
Does anyone know whether the public bus service (altibus?) runs on Sundays?
From memory that was quite cheap and hourly, but not sure if it runs every day.

Cheers Mike

Hey Mike you should be able to pull up an AltiBus timetable from their web site: http://www.altibus.com/index.aspx

Dave nearest station to Morzine is Cluses. You need to change in Annecy and then get a bus to Morzine as the station is 28km away from the resort.

Unfortunately its cost 160 euros return Paris to Cluses ...........

Was looking at driving there but then the flights i found were so cheap and with good times to get there early enough to board.

Milke, I'm getting there early and have booked a transfer with morzexpress.com for 25euros

Cheers,

I did spend some time on that site last night with no luck. But just had another go and pretty sure the timetable for next season isnt on yet, but I did manage to access last years.

The return cost then was 59 Euro (single 39). They ran three buses a day on Sundays. First one out of Geneva was at 11.20 and last one back left Morzine at 17:20

Considering its only a 90 minute transfer, that would give some scope for considering flights to allow extra time on the slopes. Assuming they run a similar bus service this year.

These threads move fast.
Thats a good site, I never before found any private transfers viable for small number. But fixed 25Eure each way and almost hourly times to choose from. Its cheaper than the limited SCUK times also. Almost seems too good to be true. Have you used them before?

Never used them before but they advertise on the main morzine website, hopefully will be ok, 45mins from flight landing to getting transfer. Be interesting to see if anyone else has used them.

Think I'm going to drive to this one, make it a road trip. It would cost approximately this much per person when sharing:
3 people sharing - approx £185-£200 per person
4 people sharing - approx £140-£155 per person
5 people sharing - approx £110-£125 per person

Costs include fuel and channel transfer both ways. Would be using the tunnel. I'm bnot very good on ferries.

I would be happy to drive the full lenght both ways, however someone with driving license could help out if they wanted.

Ive got a big 4x4 with a roof rack to stick the bardbags on roof and other gear in boot. or if only 3 peeps sharing then boardbags and other stuff can go inside the vehicle.

I haven't booked a place on the bash yet, but this is what I'm planning to do this year.
