Hi all,

Have wangled a day off work tomorrow and am thinking of heading up to the slopes for a day (from Edinburgh). I realise conditions arent quite what they were generally, but I'm struggling to get a clear view on where is likely to be best tomorrow from the various webcams.

Has anyone been up today or know what conditions are meant to be like?!

Cheers in advance

I'd forget it if I was you. With 40mph winds and 65mph gusts forecast, its debatable whether anywhere will open tomorrow.

Check for yourself...

Nevis & Glencoe are covered by this forecast.
Lecht, Glenshee & Gorm are covered by this forecast.

If it was me, I wouldn't risk it. Gales, rain and low clouds don't make a good combo Sad

Well, in the end we decided to risk it....still better than being at work. Brilliant day....good snow (a bit sticky in places but still good cover), quiet runs, sunny with a bit of cloud, clear visibility and no rain! Was pis*ing it down when we were heading up, so we werent expecting much! Wind picked up at times though, as per the forecast.

yeah, took a few pics on my IPhone, but have only just got it so still need to work out how to download em.

Claneo - we were at the Cairngorms. To be honest, unless it gets cold again i don't know how much longer the snow will last - quite a lot there, but the snowline isn't far from the car park, and it was pretty mild up there today (said 7 degrees in the car temp meter).

Glad to hear it worked out for you.

I reckon the lower slopes at Cairngorm will last another week or so in the mild weather, however the top half of the mountain is totally loaded. They'll easily last well into April.

Yeah, we were really only on the lower slopes....funicular level down. A bit windy further up!
