| I read somewhere that the medium can take up to size 10 (UK) boots, but the large is good for size 9+. Being a size 10...what should I go for? Or should I be looking to sort some boots out first and then see whether the boots fit (somehow)? |

Yeah buy boots first then you can get bindings that fit the boots you have best. best thing to do is get boots then take them with you and put them in the bindings when looking at them.
But, a uk10 should, in theory, fit both of them. |

"in theory" is the problem with that answer.
Length wise both bindings will be fine with a 10 but you might find that the heel of the boot Vs the heel cup on the binding is a little tight on the mediums.
BUT it's very specific to the boot that you buy
Never having owned or used cartels it's hard for me to give you an exact answer |

Thanks. I'll have to size them up in person I think, and see the difference in lengths between the medium and large bindings (not sure if there is much of a difference?) to make sure they'll fit the board okay. |

if your boots can squeeze into the mediums you will be better off having a tight pair of meduims that have fully extended straps than a loose pair with fully tightened straps |

Are you sure? The other thing I was wondering was whether they would stick out more from the board, as the waist width will be 253mm.
I'm thinking of getting the DC Scout boots now as I can hopefully get them a bit cheaper. |

Remeber burton bindings have quite a lot of forward lean so make sure when you have the boots that FIT you (not just ones that are cheap in the sale ) that they have a good interface with the bindings. ive found that burton(obviously) and salomon boots fit nicely in cartels. |

Aha I hear ya! I won't get boots if I'm not happy with them and they don't fit |

I was in the same boat 2 years ago, got UK 10's and decided to buy Cartel Large.....wish I didn't. I don't feel as if they give me full control, my feet don't feel supported either as the bands don't tighten enough. I wish I got the mediums, my solution was to ditch them and buy Flows instead....never going back to the ratchet's!! |

I remember seeing Flow bindings for the first time a few years ago and was simply amazed at the concept, but how do they feel and do they hold up well? I'll have to look into compatibility with the channel, although I always assumed that they would perhaps weaknen quicker and not keep a tight hold. |

I've got cartels in Medium and Large and I wear size 9 k2 t1b's.
I always choose the mediums over the large because they are more compact, fit my boots slightly better and in my opinion look better too.
I'd double check with your boot but it should fit going off mine. The only minor drawback is it may be a little more fiddly on the hill to get your ankle tongues into your buckle because you have a bit less to play with. Doesn't bother me though. |
