I get the difference between boards.... Shape camber flex sidesute etc....
but suerely the lighterst most durable comfiest and stongest binding is the best.... Whats the differencve between different bindings? like what would you want in a binding for parks compared to carvings?

I dont know if im right, most likely wrong, but bindings come the same as boots, and boards. They have different levels of stiffness, so therefore u need to pick the binding suited to the area in which u wanna play about in eg parks or carving. Id take a guess at softer for freestyle and stiff for carving (thats probably the wrong way round).
I have Flux Titan RK's, they are pretty soft, and really good. Were a steal too, end of season sale £175.

As a rule of thumb, softer for freestyle and stiffer for freeride. You'll find that most bindings are somewhere between the two. From what I can see, the price differentiation comes from light materials and how shiny/plush they are.
Ideally you'd rock one pair of bindings on a jib board and one pair on a freeride board but most of us have one pair (and often one board) for both so we make do with a compromise. That's why bindings like Union Forces are so popular because they sit well in the middle. Riders with less experience are often better off with softer bindings too.
To be honest, it's very much personal preference with bindings. I like softer bindings for everything, I don't mind that it reduces freeride performance because I want to be able to tweak a grab no matter what I'm doing.
As for contacts, they're really fun bindings but I reckon they're at the very soft end of the scale so not entirely suited to someone who likes to charge about. Great for freestyle though!
I just bought a pair of Ride Contraband Nitranes, really comfortable and I can tweak them like nobodies business
