I'm learning at the moment and bought myself a cheap and cheerfull Salomon Driver 160 board (freeride board with long nose). I was doing OK for the first few lessons but was stuggling to do proper turns as I couldn't flex the board easily enough.
Last lesson the instructor (Mini at SSV) was kind enough to let me ride his board (153 twin tip soft freestyle board) and it was soooo much easier than my Driver.
So I'm looking for something like this to carry on learning on and to used as a dry slope/fridge board, looking 2nd hand and less than £100.
Problem is I don't know which boards are freeride/freestlye and twin tip/offset bindings.
So can anyone make a suggestion for 153 / 154 / 155cm soft flex twin tip boards a year or more old that are likely to come up 2nd hand for about £100 or less???
Any advice much appreciated

Ask Mini on your next lesson!
Most snowsports sites (Snow & Rock for example...) catagorize their boards by type. So you can see what the new ones are and look for older models or equivalents. Or try searching the "Snowboard" section on eBay for the word "freestyle" to get some ideas?
Now is probably a good time to buy cheap used gear as lost of people will have bought new at the start of the season... And shops are selling off their stock to make room for mountain bikes and flip-flops (or other Summery stuff!) so you might even be able to pick up a new board if you extend your price range a bit. |

cheers for the info I assume most brands keep the same model name for a few years, so if I find a board from this season then I can look back a year or two for the same model?
Is it really worth buying a new board for use on dry slopes? Found a fair few shallow marks on the base of my Driver after each dry slope lesson.
Also, if I go away next season I'm hoping to be riding the pistes/mountain most of the time so this short flexy board would mostly be used for Sheffield dry slope (or Castleford if I ever go there). I could end up using the stiffer Driver if I ever learn to ride to a decent standrad |

Cheers Phil, I think Minis' was a white board with green and red spots on the base? (it was dark when I had the lesson)
doesn't need to be exactly the same, but ideally something similar. I was really struggling to lift my lead toe edge to make a turn on my board, got on Minis and turned so fast I nearly fell over! |
