hmm,not too keen on this new setup.. doesn't leave those of us who are beyond beginner with very much choice.
I don't mind sessioning the SCUK box,but doing so 8 hours is gonna get repetative, especially if theres like 20 of us qeuing to hit it!!
and don't really want to book multiple sessions just to hit the different features! |

Dunx we need your response urgently please! If this setup goes ahead, riots will be worse than in Bankok!
I saw him being bundled in to the back of a car labelling everyone bigots saying he's been set up and he's just trying to help the people.
It's okay though, I believe he is on route to Nick's house at the moment to apologise in person. |

We had agreed with Hemel 2 months ago we could use the lesson slope. That changed on Wednesday, which meant Maverix had to move on the the main slope meaning less room for other stuff.
It's always been the case that Maverix and Definition would be running sessions, which is why you have to pay for them. That's been up on the event page since the offset. All we've added since is the schedule and most of that is now fully reserved. We do expect to have some more coaching sessions become available on the day though.
The plan was always for Maverix and Defintion areas because this is all about coaching freestyle beginners, with one or two other things available for everybody else. The initial park plan was a super bonus, but unfortunately not possible. The lesson slope will become available after 2pm, when they'll set up a heap of stuff including some brand new rails I've been helping to build this week - a drop-off rainbow box and C box. That should be ready by 6pm because things need to set, but if they can open it earlier we will.
The two single hits mean we don't have a single queue for a single line. That makes sense to me because this is supposed to be a day for beginners.
£50 for 9 hours riding with two great hits, when it's normally £20 for an hour with no hits... not good value for money? An hour's coaching for a fiver a rip off? Seriously people!
I will be there tonight though and if they can be persuaded to add something else then I'll do my best. I spent all day there yesterday as it was trying to resolve the lesson slope issue (to no avail).
See you all tomorrow! |

| No one is saying 9 hours for 50 quid is a rip off, its just that no one would want to ride for that long on two rails, meaning the 9 hour bit is kinda irrelivent. Its your events and its completely up to you how you organise it and by the sounds of it it'l be pretty successfull. However it does seem its not been that well explained as quite a few, inculuding myself, thought we could ride a scuk park for 50 quid all day. Unfortunately i would have no interest in paying 50 quid for one hit over and over, i'd be bored in an hour , 9 hour long session or not. Also certain others were planning on driving from oop north, again im not sure they would be happy to do that just to ride a one hit line. Oh well hope it all goes well anyway. |

Thanks for the update, but to be honest for me its not just all about value, like Nick said almost 90% of the slope will not be available to me and i cant imagine riding same stupid box for 8 hours. I personaly want to improve on kickers, but none will be available unless i book lessons!?
Ok 6PM onwards new toys will be ready, but i booked 9AM to 6PM slot, so again i am loosing out.... I thought this is going to be SCUK bash and not Maverix or Definition one?
Very very disapointed.... |

| Does seems that you shouldnt have allowed people to book without having lessons, it should have been lessons and slope use for 60 quid or nothing, the fact that its possible to book without lessons implies you can ride the park without needing to pay the extra 10 quid for lessons. If Hemel have screwed you over re the beginers slope then obviously thats out of scuks hands but when people like skunkfu have pre booked expecting one thing only for the hemel managment to change the situation then its really not on. |

I think people have made up their own minds about what this event was, without actually reading the event page or anything I've posted.
Me in this thread on 25th March
Quote:
More for the evening for sure, but still making sure we have good stuff for beginners, but what's out during the day will depend on Hemel and how much space they think they'll have; they're still finding their feet as haven't been open a year yet.
Followed directly by skunkfu (I mean sktr4lf )

ah ok,fair does.
I've paid up for the day session so hope there will be some toys out to play on.
although tbh the SCUK box alone is a good laugh

don't get me wrong,a day of riding is a day of riding and i'm happy enough with that... I'm sure its more down to the centre than anything else that plans have been changeable.
And 50 notes is a bargain, for sure. was more voicing my frustrations that hemel have changed things up. like i originally said, SCUK box is still better than nowt!
The only thing i wasnt clear on from the outset was whether you could hit all the features all the time, whilst the camps are running,or whether features would be "roped off" for definition and maverix.
I have to admit,i booked with the (be it right or wrong) assumption that i'd be able to use all the features and not a select couple.
but ATEOD its a days riding on the cheap,so im not majorly fussed. |

| Like I said we'll see, but Hemel have been pretty strict about it. I'll do my best tonight to get something else added, but we don't have exclusive use of the slope and need to leave room for people turning up for recreational riding. There are signs up on the slope saying we have half the main slope, which is about right and their website has mentioned the event is running for some weeks now. But I agree we could squeeze something else in somewhere. I think it will all depend on how much room the two kickers take up. |

| Is there actually a problem in hitting the features that lessons are happening on when you're not actually on the lesson. I've been on quite a few maverix courses and there's always been other people using the features we're being taught on and the maverix guys don't seem to mind? |

| From the session times it looks like the Maverix kicker will not be being used for most of the morning. Will it be available for everyone when there is no coaching session using it? |
