| I notice some people talk about having achieved 'levels' on here, and was wandering what is meant by it? |

indoor slopes have a structured level system to meet minimum requirements for safe recreational use of the slope
Level 1 - Intro and Heel edge side slipping
Level 2 - Practice Heel edge Side Slip, Intro Toe edge side slipping
Level 3 - Practice Toe edge side slipping, Intro to turns (falling leaf and Garlands)
Level 4 - Falling Leaf and Garlands, Full turns
After level 4 most people will be safe to use the slope recreationally and can practice the basic techniques further without lessons.
I think that's right, HTH |

| side slipping with a turn into and then out of the fall line, it's the last step before they teach you to turn, like turning and then chickening out. The name comes from the shape in the snow when done properly |

Thats right for getting to a safe learning point to alllow you to clock up some time on your own. After that (for SNO!zone anyway) there are a further two levels and then you have the option of moving on to freestyle coaching or Board Excel, neither of which would be suitable for someone who has only done 4 levels and a few practice sessions on their own. |
