For everyone who wanted to see examples of Contour HD footage, here is my latest snowboarding epic.
http://www.vholdr.com/node/70768
I know the riding isn't epic but I hope you like the angles...the footage has been compressed a bit to upload it, the full HD on my PC looks awesome...I would say this is probabley the best consumer helmet camera out there....the Gopro hero just isn't neat enough for me and couldn't be mounted in the places I mounted it. |

Yeah I found those cameras better than the gopro also: much neater and easier to use.
I'd watch that trailing arm which you're swinging about a bit too much there |

| Yeh it's a bugger that arm...just keeps swinging over my head!! Got some great stares though from the germans and austrians when I was tooling down the slopes swinging a pole about! |

| It's actually a cheap treking pole with a photographic clamp mount on the end...if I had the money I would of bought some lightweight foldable ski poles as they fold up much smaller in your pack...takes a bit of getting used to riding with the pole and I wouldn't suggest doing it on steep blacks!! |

Use a monopod. Cheap as chips on eBay.

I got loads of mad footage with it, a favourite was in the carparks at the bottom of the slopes dicking around in the snow with the rearwheel drive hire car
Fair play to you though I really can't be bothered to edit all mine together. |

Could you post up some pics of the hardware you're using? Would love to see how you're attaching the ContourHD to the pole and your boardcam rig. Your googlecam footage seems a lot steadier than mine (I must be going too slow ). Also, no more crotch shots! :S |

Sorry forgot to mention the board cam...that is a flat surface mount with some dense ethafoam on the underside to raise it up so that it will only show half of the board in the shot. This is then attatched to the board with industrial velcro. I then taped it on with duck tape just to make sure (although the industrial velcro is very strong). I have one on the front and one on the back. |
