Now then...

I've decided I want a 13" macbook...

dunno whether to go for the macbook or pro!?

i prefer the look of the macbook as its white and the spec isnt that much better on the PRO for what seems like quite a few quid extra...

any ideas?

we just got a regular macbook and it does everything i ask..with a lot less hassles than a PC

if your going to use it to it's full potential..ie feature length movies in HD, complex vector drawings and after effects, editting a studio album..then pay the extra for some of the pro features.. otherwise for normal punters like us andy... save the 300 extra quid and buy a new board haha

If you don't know wether you want a MBP then you prob don't want one. Get the macbook. Wouldn't bother buying RAM from apple - it's expensive. Just buy some from the net and install it yourself.

Don't buy a Macbook pro yet, they are getting mobile Core i5 CPUs later this year, (No i7 though it seems..)so is worth the wait, apple looks like it's actually going to be bringing out a powerful laptop for once

If you're doing a lot of editing / video editing / creation, you wouldn't wanna use a Macbook for it IMHO

The plastic unibody basic Macbook looks nice for pottering around the internet / MSN etc though, was considering getting one (but went on bash instead =p)

A pro is overkill unless you're using pro graphics applications. Only downside of a MacBook is they don't have FireWire ports anymore.

Oh and installing your own ram invalidates the guarantee and the AppleCare. If you open the case up yourself then they won't cover you for anything. Hardly worth it just to save a few quid

Can't believe manufacturers are still making outdated Firewire/USB 2.0 ports, eSATA is the futureee!

what would you suggest?

a Pc with windows movie maker? Laughing

Macs are great for video editing and Final Cut software is easy enough to master!!

I prefer my MBP to the GF's MB.

Also, when you are finished with your MBP you can do this with it lol
