Post subject: Advice on setting up 2010 Ride SPIs..  PostPosted: Feb 11, 2010 - 09:01 AM

Following advice kindly given on these forums I invested in a 158cm k2 slayblade and some large ride spi bindings. They arrived in parcel form yesterday and I set them up last night (excited like a kid at christmas!). However, the bindings seem to have a million different configurable and moveable parts - not like my previous pair from 1999. I was hoping to get some broad advice on how I should set them up to best fit my boots and board. I know how to adjust the toe and boot strap to best fit my boots but need help on correctly setting up the following parts:

1) The padded bottom of the bindings underneath the boot, how far forward or back should I set this?
2) The metal bar at the rear of the bindings, should I adjust this forward (not sure if it is even adjustable) so that it touches my boots?
3) The highback 'spacer', what are the advantages and disadvantages on changing this setting?

Answers to any or all of those questions would be gratefully appreciated. I know I should really test different settings to find out what I prefer, which I will do in the Alps, but it would be good to start from as near to perfect setup as possible. Thanks again Louie

attach your bindings to the board... put your boots on and have a play... then just keep tweaking until it feels comfortable.

You won't get it perfect first time, just make sure you take a tool out with you when you next ride and adjust it during the day...
