quick question - what's the base look like?

if it's looking dry and grainy then wax, if it's smooth and "plastic-y" then it's probably good.

Board manufacturers seem to use a varying amount of factory wax from "let it soak overnight" to "place a sticker on the board saying it's waxed" (and obviously each board will be slightly different). My Atomic board's factory wax lasted ages, my Gnu seemed non-existent. So, without anyone seeing it in person I doubt ppl can give you an honest answer.

but, as some say, you can't over wax it if you're in doubt. Or, if it's looking ok, leave it and grab some rub-on wax (Zardoz Notwax) while you're away and slap it on 1/2 way through the week.

Why not just wax it and know 100% that it's ready to rock out with its.. edges(?) out?
