Are many of you following the King of SNOW comp??? http://snow.besttrick.com/
SCUK are the official partner but it looks like the brits aren't really interested as we only have 3 people competing...
i think the comp is a really cool idea, and when i'm back in the UK next year, will hopefully persuade some locals to take part and film on mass every few weeks to get the tricks
any views on why not many people are taking part from the UK??.. is it lack of motivation? advertising? organisation?? perceived skill?? or are the brits just to cool for skool??
I'm just being nosy really..but hey it beats another what board thread
for info the only brits entered are colin andrews, ed (sideshow) C-H and alice Blake ( http://snow.besttrick.com/contest/king- ... 20Kingdom) |

I don't know why more folk don't enter it. I usually get roped into filming Colin's trick each week. It gives us an excuse to head up north or hit Braehead. The fact they've changed it this year and posted up a few tricks in advance, lets you get them all done in one session if you need to.
He could be screwed for a wall ride though, unless it dumps next week. |

I think we have enough riders who have enough skill to compete i just dont think we have enough riders who care about competing so i would have to say to cool for skool.
if you read the jenny jones article in issue 88 Whitelines she even admits she entered x games because it was one of her goals she never thought she had a chance of winning but she wanted to prove to herself that she was about more than just backflips, she won the rest as they say is history.
now she is sponsored she is expected to enter comps to keep up her end of the deal but i think even if no one was watching her she would still be doing what she does.
i would say most british riders i have read about have the same attitude towards their own abilities, but thats a good thing right ?
at least it stops them from becoming elitist pricks. |

Its not well advertised really. If you dont go on SCUK the chances are alot of people wouldnt find it. I saw it last yr and the riding was a range from complete crap to brilliant.
Was meaning to enter, had fs 180 and bs180 vids done but then didnt have the net so missed the boat |

Yeah there's tons of potential for more.
That guy who is leading at the mo has tons of style, his switch bs180 is really nice |

I've not entered as been tres busy building new toys for chatham, and when I've been riding I've just wanted to do what I want to do. Plus the tricks are too hard for me |

Yeah, it's ok for the earlier rounds and then it gets to the point of having to learn new tricks... |

Thats what brought an abrupt halt to my filming and trying to take part. Front 3's beat me up for about 2 hrs.
We should start our own, as long as it doesnt have gettin up on your heels I should be ok |
