I've been a long time reader on these forums but this is my first time posting. I just felt like I needed to rant somewhere and this seemed like the best place for it. The wife was getting sick and tired of it afterall.
So, Sno!Zone. What he hell is going on? The condition of the slope just seems to go from bad to worse. The park is either too extensive for more than the few dozen people to use or so tiny there is hardly any point in bothering with it. Both sponsored riders and staff have a habit of jumping on and off the pomas whenever the feel like it where as us paying customers need to wait at the bottom like idiots. They also seem to think not using helmets on the features alright when it's explicitly stated you need to use helmets if going anywhere near the features in the first place. Or is that again just us paying customers who need to abide by that rule?
Staff seem dejected and almost manically depressed at times which just puts a downer on mine and my familys mood whenever we manage to make it down.
Also I'm back to having to be served by whichever rude and almost pompous at times girl is behind the ticket desk now that I've finally found out that the only member of staff that ever seemed to actually care about me - The boy with the lip piercings - has been let go for whatever reason. God only knows whos idea that was when there are some truly useless staff behind that ticket desk. I was hoping some of the winter staff would replace some of the old quite frankly outdated members of staff that have been for years.
On top of the general horrendous attitude of the vast majority of staff I have encountered the equipment is shoddy and in dire need of a good waxing/repair. The only reason I do not bring my own board/ski's down is due to the fact my board was damaged on a nail sticking out of the left hand track. It took them almost 2 months to get this fixed so I'd rather not risk damaging my equipment anymore in that place.
All in all I feel let down in so many ways by the staff and facilities at Sno!Zone I don't even see myself going back anytime soon.
Maybe it's just me but any other feed back from the rest of you lovley people would be appreciated. Don't just want to be sounding like a grumpy older man here. |

I was there yesterday and thought it was fine!
The girl on the front desk seemed ok to me, she was pleasant enough. What do you want her to do when booking you in? Tell you how handsome you are or something?
It was very quiet yesterday afternoon, the slope had been pisted and seemed in good condition, the staff all seemed to be doing their jobs fine, I even had a laugh with the guy at the top of the poma when I accidently pinged the poma over itself at the top and it jammed it up for a minute. I appologised and we had a laugh and he said no problem matey.
I paid for two hours from 4 pm until 6pm and rode until 6.30pm because I was having so much fun and it was so quiet. The staff didn't mind so hats off to them.
I had a very good time yesterday, no grumbles from me at all |

yeah same, the dude behind the desk was really quick and helpful and i was able to take my mate who is a total newbie on the mainslope without bein challenged by old farts who would like to ski all the way across the slope, go down a foot and a half, then go the opposite way across to they've completed to the other side
fairly quiet as well and some of the stuff from the freestyle night before was useable as well, not alot of mashed potato snow either. its also the only non-dry slope i can access just now so im making do with Sno!Zone B and hella happy with it man. better a snow slope and bear with it then have no white stuff at all til we make cash and go abroad or up far north. blah |

ive been going 3 times a week for the past few weeks and dont have many problems to pick up, true alot of the staff look bored out their wits standing at the lift, but who wouldnt? I've not had anyone that i could say was unfriendly or unhelpful at the ticket desk either but that could depend on the times your visiting?
I've been having a great time with all the features that were out last week, even though it can get a bit crappy boarding yourself all the time, but it seems to be pretty Cliquey there.
All in all i can see myself boarding there weekly for as long as i stay near it! |

| If you've worked retail before they you can understand why someone on the front desk would look miserable, as long as they're not rude to me I don't care to be honest. |

its off season, if there's only say ten people out on the slope riding then thats how many people the people on the front desk have had to deal with in the past hour.
i would be bored sh1t. and i guess they are as well.
make their day, give them a smile.
trust me on this, its always worth being on good terms with front desk staff. |

| Why is summer called "off season" at a dome? I'd have thought with there being no snow any more up on the mountains, the domes would be very busy and they would be "in season" right now? |

I've also just been lurking on the board but thought I'd throw in my experience.
I don't head out very often since I don't have a car and lugging my board around numerous buses gets a bit irritating. I was there on Saturday night for (almost) 3 hours. It was really quiet, I agree the lift staff might seem bored but it doesn't really affect my enjoyment of riding. I seem to get the same guy on the desk everytime and he always smiles and seems pretty friendly. I gave him a bit of a laugh when i tried to walk away without my pass and then walked into one of the glass displays.
Snow was pretty good (although always really dirty. Or is that just me?) all in all enjoyable saturday night since there's not getting to a real slope. |

I was there today and they were all very helpful.
1st of all I forgot my gloves, so was given a pair of gloves to borrow.
2nd My son & I where only on the slope about 20 minutes before he had to leave with a twisted knee.
3rd They looked after him and gave solid advice.
4th Gave back full slope time for another date.
All in all very happy with their service to date. |

It's odd but at least for Braehead it's always been empty in the summer, with the exception of a few hours on freestyle nights and price slide days.
As for lift staff - chat to them, I always found the Braehead staff a great laugh once you engaged them in conversation. Got to know a few over the years when I was up there. |

| I think you caught it on a bad day really. I've never had a problem other than crap snow the week after a snowstorm or when the groomer was bust and I've been going for 3 yrs now |

bignick you haven't mentioned it, so i'll ask. have you spoken to braehead about your issues? you seem to have a few, so if you were able to voice them in a post on here, is it worth atleast copying it into an email to the management so they can get a sense of what's annoying you? especially if you're reluctant to travel to the centre again, so can't speak to anyone when you're next there.
if you don't let them know there's a problem, how can they try to remedy it? you can't expect them to smell there's a problem ! good luck with sorting it out. |
