On a more serious note, how is the BSA going to be funded?

This will all pan out over the coming months, but the current snowboard programmes have worked that some athletes get grants from various departments and the remainder is made up by the athlete or team sponsors. So no risk to the BSA, so long as it runs the programmes to budget (which it has in the past). Ideally the BSA would look to raise additional funding to reduce the amount the athletes have to contribute to their programmes.
Since we don't have an office we dont have any over heads and the current members of the committee primarily me, john, colin have done all our work in the past 10 years and more for free and covered our own expenses. So little risk for the BSA.

The BSA will be about generating supporters who can help raise funding through events and new ideas. The SCUK members/ audience will be a valuable asset in achieving supporters... So stay tuned Smile

How is the BSA going to pan in with the BOA announcement that Team GB Ltd will control it?

Or is the BSA going to be organising the sport under the banner of Team GB?

Also, if SCUK membership = BSA membership, will prices for membership increase (which I have no issue with as long its within reason, £30 quid is still excellent for membership even without free gifts - just wondering)

In order for our snowboarders to compete at the olympics it was decided that the obvious choice was to make the BOA the national governing body for snowboarding & skiing until the end of the season. The BOA only deal with olympic/very elite athletes normally so i'm sure you'll understand that this is a temporary solution to cause the least disruption for the athletes.

No plans to raise the price of the SCUK membership from £15, only the BSA will add value. Regardless you're not actually a member craig.. I presume you will be though?

As Stu said, details are all up in the air as you'd expect. The "elite" riders are priority at the moment for obvious reasons.

SCUK membership == BSA membership.

PWNED indeed... and we gave him a free trip to the Winter Bash! The least he could do is re-join. Why I oughta... Wink
