I was thinking about buying a transceiver but am not sure if i need One as i wont be going off Piste,at my skill level i guess i'm limited to piste blue & red runs.
But i would like to use one and learn how they work so if it's cool with one of you guys if i can group up with someone when you go to the practise zone.

Unless you are going off piste (and proper off piste not just by the side of a piste) they serve no purpose. Always handy know know how to sue one though for future use.
