Hi guys I know I already posted a thread about helmet cams and stuff but I need your attention so I've written a new one.

I have just heard a particular song and I want to make a vide to it so I need your help. I was wondering if on the way people could film a little bit of their transportation.

I'm going by car so I am going to film

Closeups of the car doors/boot closing
Closeups strapping board to the roof
Head lights turning on.

If you are travelling by train then shots that might be useful

Footage of people walking on platform
Snowboard bags being put on top of each other
Sliding bags into over head storage
Train doors opening

When you are actually at the resort I'm looking for footage of

People doing up their straps (closeup of straps)
Closeups of faces looking out into the distance
General scenic shots

Then..... blimmin well go and snowboard!!!

I am looking to do a footage day where I'd like to film people doing rails, jumps, The Vert and so on Lots of impressive slowmotion footage of the rails and jumps.

If anyone is interested in having themselves filmed for this can you make yourself known to me.

Thanks guys Very Happy I really want to make this video Very Happy

I'm leaving all my camera gear and tripods behind this year. Every trip I lug it out but can't be bothered this year. Spend too much time filming for work so deciding to take a proper break this time!! The problem youl have. With asking people for their footage is the differences in picture quality youl be working with. It looks a bit dodgy when you edit between film shot on different cameras.

Kinda what Nick said, but I find I never take pictures/videos of the best bits of the bash, as i'm faaar too busy enjoying it and actually riding

I go back to the bash every year as ima surrounded by the people who were there the previous years etc etc and know/saw all the amazing things that happened as you did, n can have a rite good reminisce about it, faaar better than trying to explain it to someone from a photo in my opinion Smile

As soon as people try to set stuff up it never really happens, too many people to organise and everyone wants to do their own thing. You're welcome to have a go though Smile

I did a lot of snow trip videos when I was at uni (and managed to get impressionable freshers to buy them Laughing) and the only way it works is if you capture people having lots of fun, because quite frankly the snowboarding is going to be a bit sh1t Very Happy Yeah, my point is don't get too serious about it because none of us are pros.

yeah a snowboard film needs more than four people in it, that will involve actually being sociable this year and riding with shock horror other people!! Smile

The prob is to get organized, involves a lot of planning first, specially to place the cameramans before the riders set off. Walkie talkies would be a good addition to coordinate that.
Also I suggest to get together the night before in the pub to work out the shots, think that is the only way to get a video at the end.
Well, I am taking my cameras as well, I will be up for it if people are interested.
At the end of the day is too much work and everyone decides to go riding instead.
Ah, Nickmotture is our onofficial/offical pro video editor, so we can ask him nicely to tidy the shots afterwards Smile

Only really for the park session... when with a group on the runs you don't need to setup ahead... just over take

Walkie talkies would be a good addition to coordinate that.

Midland G7 + Throat Mic with vox, might I suggest. I will be buying a pair... £130 altogether and they are legal in all europe countries.

I need a layout of the freestyle park and some people that can do a range of slides n grinds. I also need to know the where the jumps are and need some people who are willing to get some good air (nothing major but good)

Well, I am taking my cameras as well, I will be up for it if people are interested.

Go for it... I might bring the computer with me so can I steal your footage of an evening? Smile

At the end of the day is too much work and everyone decides to go riding instead.

This is very true

I would also need the SCUK logo and here's a bit of a pep talk from me...

Pretty much cover a few aspects of the runs...

1 camera man tags along with:

Piste run
Park Session
Off Piste

And ALL camera men whilst out try and get some footage of riders with mountains in the background and close-ups of smiles and so on. Also little snippets of bindings being done up.

Film mostly from downhill although a couple of shots from above with people setting off with the view in shot can also be helpful.

If your camera has a slow motion setting then make use of it Smile

I will be taking my canon 1d mark II N and my sports lenses which I can mix in with the footage. As a reportage wedding photographer im used to me moving around the action. Not it being completely organised.

A layout of the park would be very useful though.

P.S.

I WISH I COULD AFFORD THE HD HERO!!!!!!! Sad

I admire your enthusiasm and good luck to you. Problem is that people are only out there for 6 days and there ends up being so much waiting around to film that in the end everyone just wants to go riding. I was filming at last years Brits Slopestyle final, had to sit there for about 4 hours just to get two good shots lasting a total of ten seconds. Fine if you're out for the season but wastes too much riding time when you only have a week before you go back to work.

Dont mean to be negative and i hope you get something done i just know how hard it is having spend the last few seasons filing.

Essentially the only real part of this day that I would need to "organise" is the park sesstion as this would include a range of different angles based on a couple of fixtures.

Apart from this I will be filming as I go along down the slopes (aided with the helmet camera) and a camcorder. This stuff I will film me and 4 others shredding the mountains.

If it works it works... if it doesn't then it doesn't...

But if people are willing to donate any of their footage to me then that would be great.... 4 cameras is better than 1 Wink

This might just turn into a Tignes Video... haha

Its a 6 minute song... the first minute Will be taken up by scenics + prep shots / transport....

The more footage I get the easier it will be... so if you guys can help out then that would be great... but no one ruin their holiday for me Wink

I'll take some shots at the pub quiz and integrate all of those.....

So if you are integrating

Personal footage (general larking about + Pub Quiz)
Lift footage
Helmet Cams
Filming others boarding on piste/off piste
Park Footage
Transport footage
Scenics
Abstract + Closeups
Stacks (I'm going to try the vert Wink )
Still shots + Group Shots

You can get an ok all round video.

The video should be more directed towards a laugh rather than the actual quality of tricks and so on.

A nice shot to be honest which would be the most organised one.... is one morning we all go up the same lift... I go down ahead of the group and then signal for people to make their way down... so you get a nice large group going down together.

Is there a nice wide, straightish run in tignes that you guys think would be good for this shot?

Parlafour would be a good lift for a mass run down. Plenty of room at the top to stack up and a big run down past the first corner would be ok as theres plenty of little side hits for people to mess about on to make it more interesting.

Last yr there was an en mass park session too which was sort of guided, if your planning on doing filming that would be the best time to go to the park.

If anyone has any info about the mass park day then please make it known Smile

If we were going to do a mass ride down I guess the Monday Morning might be a good time? People will get to see eachother on the sunday night at the meal....
