I’m looking to go skiing around March next year and looking at investing in some new base layers (top & legs) before I do… Also just recently taken up [motor]biking and thinking a decent set of thermals would also come in useful for that when the weather’s bad.
I’ve got a HH Lifa top at the moment and have been impressed with it, but from the little reading I’ve done, I gather the Icebreaker stuff is meant to be ‘better’. But then I spotted the skins stuff which seems to be around the same price range. Planning on wearing the top under my jacket & micro fleece when it’s cold. Bottoms under a pair of salopetes.
Just wondered which you guys would suggest – Icebreaker or Skins? Skill wise I’m probably somewhere between beginner & intermediate, so not sure how much use I’d get out of the ‘performance optimisation’ boasted by the Skins kit (although it does look the db’s). |

| DKNY do a range of eco 70% bamboo based underware that's breathable and works well, comes in green cardboard packaging. Picked mine up from TK Maxx for about £9. |

skins all the way
Can't agree more, Skins are the way to go.
They help you ride longer, harder and make you 'officially' 26.8% more skillful.
As its already been said they're not cheap but this is the cheapest place I've found them

EDIT: and one more thing, you shouldn't need the thermal ones, the normal sport ones are fine.
Go here, and use the SCUK 10% discount, nice! |

haha, that could bolster my new years resolution
Thanks for the quick replies. Skins/compression kit seem the way to go then? Although might be worth me taking a peek in TK Maxx just to have a look... |
