Hello
I'm thinking of getting a new burton custom but can't decide which size. So here is the obligatory "which size" question (sorry)
I'm 6'2" and weigh around 95kg and size 12 feet. I have only riden domes but have booked 2 weeks in avoriaz early march. My basic riding is ok and the aim is to start riding more freestyle stuff soon.
So... Do I go for the 157w or the 162w?
Current board is ride antic 165w which feels too big for me.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Cheers

Hello mate,
go for the 157 wide, I ride a 158 custom and it hold's the turns no problem at all plus great in the park.
Im same size as you but size 10 feet
(think if you look at custom they still do a 158 - if you want the v rocker I think its less size options)
either way your buying a top board ! |

| Weight range for a 157W is 56-79kg, 162W is 68-91kg. |

Klem - for your height, weight and foot size - definitely the 162 wide. |

15kg is a bit more than "just outside the weight range" though.
I'm a few kgs over my boards recommended max, but not into double figures. |

If you want to go shorter why dont you consider one of the other boards out there which has a better weight range, K2 for example?
You could ride a Slayblade wide 159 for your weight!

Sweet, I think I'll go for the 162 then
The K2 slayblade is a gorgeous board and I have considered it, but I just have my heart set on a Custom...
Yeh, think I'll give them TSA at Cas a ring.. do they charge you for trying out the boards?
Hey! winterfunman... u cheeky bugger!... Its all muscle I swear
Thanks for all the advice... apologies for adding to the myriad of "which size" questions but it's a lot of money to spend if I get the wrong size
Cheers

I'm a bit of a Burton whore when it comes to gear, but unless you were dead set on a setup with EST bindings, I'd go for the Slayblade.
1. £70 cheaper.
2. All makes of binding will fit.
3. It's the replacement for the Zeppelin. 'Nuff said.
4. You can get the 159W and still be within the weight range.
5. Grill will be your mate.
Only thing is, TSA don't do the 159W. Plenty of other places do though. |
