| Everyone is different. I wear a wicking base layer, thermal or not dependent on the weather, a hoody/jumper type thing over the top of that and then my jacket. I seem to be fine with that. If I get to warm then I open my jacket vents. The only time I ever feel cold is on a lift. |

| it was -20 in Chamonix on Sunday, and with winds of about 20mph that makes it -36ish... no matter how warm you get you'd need thermals on a lift for that. |

| always a helly hansen base layer up top but normally only use the base layer below the waist if really cold. always find decent gloves and hat make the world of difference. apparently you lose 70% of heat out of your head!!! |

Nope. I find even in the coldest of European winters a tshirt and jacket with decent pants is all I need. Maybe if I'm hanging around I might whack a hoodie on.
Someone I know pulled a pair of long-johns out of their bag once... I nearly pissed myself! |
