| The forecast temps for the resorts are dropping below freezing consistently though, for the first time this season. Hoping to be able to ride over Christmas / New Year myself. |

| Well I'm in Glenrothes so give us a shout if you wanna lift share up there. I've got the rock board ready and have stocked up on Ptex ready to repair anything the scottish mountains can throw at me |

All I've seen in Scotland the past week is pissing rain and gale force rain.
This year I've decided I will get up North though. |

Welcome aboard!
I've actually never been boarding in Scotland. you guys recommend it? Seems pretty pricey to me, so surely it's better to just go to the Alps? |

As said in every Scotland thread -
When its on its amazing - but planning in advance is really tricky as conditions can change daily.
Riding in Scotland can be really good fun as the terrain is pretty unique - and the views are amazing. There is something special about riding in your own country.
torty - saying that it looks expensive and its easier to go to the alps - you can extend that to saying that the alps look pricey -might as well go to north america. |

dashie is now known as buzz killington...
there is something very special riding 40 mins from my parents house on amazing terrain, glen coe is AMAZING... loads of drag lifts all over the place though
how is it expensive? £100 petrol, £30 per night bnb or stay YHA or caravan it they're cheap as in winter and still surprsingly warm! plus you can just wait for the snow and go no booking flights no transfers no cock ups...
I've had some of my best riding days up in mighty scotland. |

Ive had more board damage in L2A than in Scotland -
I've had some amazing days, and missed some amazing days riding my local mountains. But even coming up from Stirling it can be hard to pick the right day. |

Ok well I was just going on the fact of the ski prices that I saw on some resort websites, they seems to be just as expensive as austria resort prices, plus I would still have to fly up there, since I live in Harpenden (30mins North of London) and ok to be fair I don't know about prices for hotels/ hostels etc. I'm sure it's a lot more convenient if you live up in Scotland for sure. I still would like to board there just for me if I'm going to pay the same as I would if I went to Austria, then personally, I pick austria, but hey, that's just me! |

how much can you get to austria for a weekend away?
scotland is good for calling in work sick and going. If you have to preplan everything then its probably easier as you say to go abroad... |
