Is it me or does it seem warmer then normal. I am off to Tignes this year, going mid December and although they had a big dumping a few days ago and it looked set for a good trip, but now if you look at the webcam, its looks all patchy. Then you look at the weather forecast and it mid afternoon they got temperatures of about 11degrees at 2100m. Even at 3300m it’s at positive figures. Also I was having a look and freezing level seems to consistently above 3000m. Is this normal this time off year? Does anybody know something I don’t? The sources i have been using are http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Tignes/6day/mid and http://www.tignes.net/en/infos-pratique ... r-292.html
Maybe I should just be patient like I did last year. Went to Les Arcs mid December and about 2 weeks before we went they had the hugest dumping and it proper set us up for an amazing trip, probably some of the best snow I have seen. |

I hope you are right, having a look at these pictures makes fo scary viewing http://www.tignesnet.com/webcam/tignes/40 & http://www.tignesnet.com/webcam/tignes/53
Thing is aswell, I'm stay in Tignes Les Brévières which is the lower slope situated at 1550m.
Maybe we should all start doing the snow dance just to be on the safe side, ready...1...2...3...dance (two left feet, trip, crash, ouch, hello A&E) |

Why do those pictures make scarey viewing, they look completely normal for this time of year?
You're very unlikely to have snow down to Breviers this early in the season and even if you did the lifts and pistes wouldn't be open anyway, it is only Middle of November remember. What you do is get the shuttle bus ten minutes up the road to the main town where there is snow. Thats what i always do in April when i stay in Brev. |

| What's to get worried about? It's not like there's anything you can do about it except perhaps not go. |

I use “scary” as editorial spin, just shows I was never that good in English when I was at school. Good thing I don’t really need good English to do my job .
But I am a bit worried, cos you pay so much money, and for me I only can go once a season so I try and make the most of it and do every run I can and go every where and when you see pictures of it looking a bit patchy then I have stick more to the beaten track so to speak.
I will be more patient and wait more till December before getting more worried. |
