The Snowball Rally is now a distant memory for the members of the 2009 SCUK team (i.e. Craig, Phil and I) and although the thought of all that Dendix, Permasnow, Snowflex and Knockhatch's interesting Power pac slope will be ingrained in my head for many years to come we had a great time and met some cool people.
We managed 3rd place in the rally just behind the Ski Amigos and the Kernow Sessions boys (30 points separated the three teams) and a very respectable 2nd place in the fundraising (a personal thanks to Rachie for being the only SCUK’er to sponsor me and also for the goodies kindly delivered to us at Ackers in Birmingham) with first place going to Team Jack Rabbit.
We, well mostly Phil, drove 1495 miles, rode on 26 Slopes from Castleford and Halifax all the way down to Plymouth and Folkestone. The days were long, tiring but rewarding and we met some great people both in the competing teams and the local slope staff.
The good word of SCUK was spread across the land as we made sure everyone knew where we’d come from and who we represented (Dunx, we were on our best behaviour honest guv and cheers for the HUGE SCUK sticker for Phil's car). |
