Hi guys.
Its a bit of a long shot, but just spreading the word a bit after our van was broken into on Friday evening by some scrote in central manchester. We think they broke in looking for a Sat Nav, but they ended up bagging nearly £2k worth of our samples.
A lot of it was mountainbike / mx stuff. But there was some Electric stuff in there two. The goggles are just part of the 2009 / 2010 range so we don't hold out much hope of being able to track them.
But the bag they were in was a Electric Visual Sentinal travel bag, and its the only one in the UK.
So if any of you see one of these about for sale anywhere, can you bear in mind it might be stolen. Granted it might have also been bought by some one on holiday, so don't get all medieval on their asses too fast
It was taken from our van in central Manchester. The Electric stuff that went missing was:
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EG2 goggle, Volt Lime.
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EGK goggle, Comic Script Kids.
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EG.5s goggle, B4BC.
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EG.5 goggle, Electro Shock.
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EG1 goggle, Kaleidoscope.
1 x 2010 Electric Visual EG1s goggle, Tiger.
and there is a picture of the bag attached to this post - if I've managed to get it to work!
and some of the other stuff that went missing can be found here:
http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/artic ... ors--24050
we're really just hoping something might pop up on ebay, or somewhere and we can link it back to the scum who broke in, because we're pretty certain the police know who it was, we just need some more evidence to get them sent straight back to jail.
Any leads would be massively appreciated and rewarded!
Cheers
Col.

Not condoning what the scum did , but why leave stuff in a van over night theses days , asking for trouble , i spoend an hour every night and morning loading and unloading gear , total peace of mind , and even leave rear door slide interior cover open so ppl can see there diddly quat to steal ........ again i am with you on stopping these scum ....but nowadays give anyone an inch and they will certainly take a mile ..................... hope the cops get them and you get stuff back
ps love the new electric goggles too |

| Colin sent us some pictures, so let's see if we can't get the gits. I'm sure they'd be some Electric stickers in it for you! |

ok some quick replys.
1) they are that stupid. I know of quite a bit of stuff thats been stolen and got back over the years because people do use ebay. They don't realise how rare some of the stuff stolen in these industries is. Its always worth assuming they are stupid.
I had a bike stolen once when I was a lad, and they took it to my local shop to fix. Most ammusing when we and the police were waiting for them to collect it.
2) don't worry I'm not stupid, it wasn't over night, it was 8 in the evening and I only left it for a few minutes to go into my girlfriends flat to pick her up. We had a brew, the van was in full view of the flat window, parked under a street light, and under a CCTV camera. The stuff was hidden in the back, and nothing of value was on view. The police reckon he was just looking for the O on the front window where a sat nav has been and broke in on the off chance. If I could have an empty van, that would be ideal, but its the nature of my work and hobbies, there is always stuff in it. |

to be honest I'm not massively bothered about getting it back, because its pretty much written off now anyway the chances are so slim. But I do want to find a way of making sure we get the git who did this. and I've already managed to find out his surname and the block of flats he lives in.
So worst case, I'll give it a few months, and then he'll find a surprise one evening
But yes if we do get anything back, or any leads, they'll be more than stickers in it. |

| Also, anyone notice the comments on the BikeRadar post, some guy complaining about the post being a "kissup" for a distributor? Nice guy eh? Dick! |

Yeah you can expect that kinda sh1t on Bikeradar, it's like pinkbike!
Shame about the stuff getting nicked Col, get a post up on SDH if you haven't already (not seen one I dont think?). At least you have an idea who did it.
Nicked bikes turning up at shops is so common its almost unbeleivable how stupid these people are. My mate had a newly built BMX nicked and they tried to sell it back to Custom Riders where he a)bought it and b)always hangs out.
Good luck getting the kit back and sorting the scrote out. |
