Hi folks,
I'm looking into doing my first season and considering heading to Bansko (mainly as I'm skint!)
I'm going it alone as none of my mates are able to commit to the season, but would be open to sharing accomodation. I will be keeping on my job as a website content provider while there so would need somewhere with reliable internet access.
If anyone's interested in joining me feel free to get in touch - im 24 and probably intermediate in terms of skill.
Likewise - if anyone has any tips about where to stay, how much accomodation/lift pass is likely to cost for the season then I'd be interested to hear it.
Cheers,
Chris. |

| Have you been to Bansko before? It's not that big an area so would be pretty low down my list if I was doing a season to be honest. |

Hi Mate - nah, never been before - only been to Les Deux Alpes, Risoul and Alpe Duez on week-long holidays so I'm aware i may have been a bit spoiled.
However, as i have practically zero saved up i have to look to one of the cheaper resorts - even if it means limited terrain.
I've been dying to do a season for years but haven't been able to afford it so unfortunately my hands are tied.
As it's my first season I'm sure I'll have fun anyway - I'll just be grateful to be back on a board. |

if your serious about improving you riding, the terrain is more than adaquate.
methodsnowschool runs BASI training for and Level 2 courses on this mountain.
just depends what you looking for. if money was no question, we'd all be off to mammouth, whistler or verbier for the season!
and if your serious about spending daddy's money and sampling the delights of challet girls and nannys then maybe here is not a good option either... |

Well i dont have any of daddy's money, but the challet girls and nannies sound interesting!
Seriously though, I do want to improve my riding and would consider a course or two while I'm out there (money permitting).
Its been a while since i've been on a board and even then i've never spent more than a week at a time in places so feel like I have to leave just as I'm getting somewhere.
I'll have a look at the Method courses and it'd be cool if anyone on here wants to go riding together / teach me freestyle! |

I'll be out there this winter doing a lvl2 instructor course. I would definitely recommend Method if your looking to improve your technique.
Can't wait for the winter! |

| I might give one of their freestyle courses a try if i can spare the cash. Anyone know if gear is cheap to buy out there? I have my own set up but could do with a new board. |

| I know this might seem like a daft question, but I've been trying to work out what the winter time difference is between Bansko and the UK - do they put their clocks back too? Is it two or three hours ahead in winter? I've looked it up but just get confuzled! |
