bad news for him (although good that he got rescued alright) but good news for boarders methinks to meself!
I just had a look on banskoski.com's "panoramacam" or whatever they call it and looks like a bunch of snow fell last night so if that keeps up there should be a decent base come the weekend. Sweet potatos! |

i'll be there for the first week of March, been once before in 2007 when the snow wasnt great
going with some who are still learning, hence going back there rather than a larger resort, cheaper lessons
4 hours private one to one lesson for £50 - not bad |

| Hi all, so an update - I'm here in Bansko now and can confirm that while the gondola is running, it looks like there's not enough snow yet. Lift prices for the season are 860lv = £430. |

you have inspired me to do a season next year or the year after, Depends when i finish my apprentiship. anyway so i was wondering how a season works. do you have to get your own accomidation and whats the jobs like. Dont the companys pay for your lift passes???
I would like to do this some time in the next couple of years. any advice?
cheers

McMinn - Natives is a good site for more info on seasons. My situation is a bit different from other folks - I work from home and can continue to do that out here, but most folks get a job wherever they are doing a season or save up enough cash to be ski bums. Depending on your employer the might provide accomodation and sometimes limited lift passes. Otherwise its up to yourself to organise.
PS big up stirling! that's my old uni stomping ground! haha |

Any gossip on when the resort is opening? They have planned 12th but will there be enough of the white stuff? I see the local forecast is predicting a good few days of snow this week.
Should be coming out sat-thurs next. |

| Yeah, apparently there's a veterns race on if they get the mountain open. Otherwise its just gonna be a bunch of Bulgarian bands playing on a snowless hill... which I'm sure no one wants. I've heard we're due some white stuff but it was sunny all day today and not a hint of snow in the town sadly. |
