It's snowing in Bansko right now!
Hey Chris,
though I had better say Hi to show that us Bansko seasonaires are a friendly bunch! (and the chalet girls are all very attractive!)
If you need any info just ask, but I'll try and answer a few of your questions:
Seasonaire accommodation is really cheap, there are some good deals on offer and you'll be able to get high speed interent for about 10/15 quid a month.
In Sofia, last years boards are on sale untill the beginning of December and they're pretty cheap but obviously there isn't as much choice. If you are after a particular model you would be better getting it in the UK/off the web.
The easiet way to get to Bansko from Sofia is to take a taxi from the airport to the bus station and get the bus to Bansko which costs about 10 quid altogether and is very easy.
Nationwide is a good option or it is easy to set up a bank account over here and transfer a lump sum over so you get a better exchange rate.
Hope that helps and if you want to meet up for a drink when you arrive, let me know. |

Sounds awesome Martymun,
I think i've now got accomodation sorted with interweb bundled in so hopefully that all goes smoothly.
As far as boards go, i'm not really fussy - dont have any particular one picked out - just interested to know if i'm gonna get a good deal should I decide to treat myself.
are there decent shops in bansko for such stuff? you say sofia sells them but i've not heard any mention of anywhere in Bansko other than Method.
Good advice about the transfer - I'll be doing that rather than the é65 private jobbies on google.
thinking of setting up an account with nationwide anyway since Lloyds TSB seem to be systematically destroying Halifax!
Should def meet up as well, I dont fancy spending a season alone so the more mates I have out there the better! |

The boards in bansko aren't as good deals - but there are a few around and method have some really nice K2s in which you can demo no probs.
When are you arriving? I'll ask around to see if anyone is in Sofia then - you might be able to get a lift straight from the airport. |

just thought id chuck this in here...............
hi guys we have a spare place in our appartment for the season in MAYRHOFEN
we are staying in the gasthoff zillertal all season from 1st dec to 11th april
it's a four person room and there are three of us already.
skiers or snowboarders welcome male or female, ideally a female as there are already 2 guys and 1 girl so would make things even haha.
the place costs 1455 euros for the whole season! super cheap. basically one guy dropped out after paying the deposit and first payment but he said we can keep it as its non refundable to him and for messing us around.
message me guys if your interested as this is bound to go quickly.
cheers ross. |
