Hey there I'm trying to sort out a holiday for 5 or 6 days starting sometime next week

I've never been on a boarding holiday though so don't know wheres best or cheapest etc.

Could anybody tell me where is best to go on a budget this time of year? I've been looking at les arcs which works out just about our budget (myself and a mate) of £400

We dont care about sleeping conditions so long as its warm enough etc.

Cheers people

Spen

Get yourself to Jasna in slovakia mate, amazing riding to be had there and good lift system etc. See the slovakia thread on here for more details, shack up with Chalet Slovakia, Dan and Clare there are great and will see you have a great Hol.

Livigno is Italy is a good choice this time of year. Its high enough for some decent snow, generally pretty cheap, and from mid April you can get a free lift pass with certain hotels:

HI Spen,

Bad thing about boarding holidays is, its hard to do it cheaply

If you check out countrys like Slovakie, Bulgaria and Andorra, there smaller and have less infrastructure than the bigger resorts and in turn are cheper to get there, cheaper lift pass, and most important, cheaper booze!

Soldeau in Andorra is pretty good, still cheaper than teh bigger resorts, but its been linked with Pas De la Casa and gives quite a large area to board

BUt at this time of year, check out the altitude of resorts, as the snow is starting to go at lower ground. Try and get somewhere with high pistes, meaning more snow to explore, as lower pistes may be dried up

If you need any info on particular resorts just PM me and i can give you what you need

Mountain sun will be close to doing there special offer for late season.

Something like 3 night stay in tignes, fully cattered for £90 inc transfers. if the snow is ok then its ski in ski out, accomadation is basic but more than adequate. I went last year had a great few days.

Just have to sort your own flights and lift passes.

One option might be flying with easyjet to Geneva, and going to Chamonix or Morzine/AVoriaz. That way you can just do however many days you can afford.

There is some cheap accomodation in Chamonix, with a hostel and cheap apartments at Chamonix Sud. Nice high resort as well, no worries about snow.

One other option is if you fancy driving just find any high resort, Tignes / Val Thorens and then go to holidayrentals.com or similar website, find an apartment that is not booked and just try emailing the owner, they may give the apartment to you for half price. 3 pals and me did this time last year in Val Thorens for only £180 each, VT also has lots of free runs too...

Always difficult doing 4 / 5 day trips on the cheap as everything is geared towards week holidays.
