Hey,
So, those of you who have been lucky to go to Japan, can you help out with a who/what/where/how much thread?
What companys did you book with?
How much did it cost?
Which resort?
Cheers in advance......................

how long are you planning for? How many?
I found the best way for Niseko was to book flights myself and stay at Shizenkan lodge. 2 weeks was about £1600 pp inc flights lift pass and transfers etc. but it depends on exchange rates (Jan 08 was ¥220 to the £, now it's more like ¥140
Resort prices make you wonder why you ever bothered with Europe and the variety/quality of on-mountain catering blows the others away. This is true for most of Hokkaido.
If coming for a longer stay then be flexible, hire a car and move around the smaller mountains, you won't regret it!

Gonna be 5 or maybe 7 people, 14 days, but will prolly board/ski for 10, sight see the rest? The exchange rate does suck, thats why I am thinking about delaying, but my knees are wearing out real fast so prolly dont have too many more years left :0(
Thanks mate!

cool. It may be cliched but I'd reccommend Niseko for the sliding. If you look around you can get a feel of local Japanese life, stay away from the westernised bars and restaurants!
Transfer in Tokyo and have a coupe of nights there for sight seeing and a taste of the madness there.
My favourite time is January, from around the 15th as everyone's back to work after New Years etc and it's cold.
