Okay, here's the official train travel thread.

For the record, I'll probably be travelling by train as it gives you an extra two days in resort.

Er...me. But you get the seat you're given on the train, so we only really met up at St. Pancras and BSM for the transfer. Well, except Harry who was dressed head to toe in SCUK.

And they don't allocate positions at the bar so you can gather there! I hope the keep the outrageous price disparity on the beer prices...

I've booked mine for £189 return, which I reckon is worth it for the extra 2 days on the slopes above a plane fare. It's also better for the environment of course Smile

Outbound - Friday 15th January 2010
20:31 - London St Pancras 06:27 - Bourg St Maurice 08h56m Standard £74.50
Coach 5 Seat 65

Inbound - Saturday 23rd January 2010
22:15 - Bourg St Maurice 07:16 - London St Pancras 10h01m Leisure Select £114.50
Coach 12 Seat 45

Leisure Select upgrade for the return journey was only £5 so I took that. I travelled both ways leisure Select last year and that gives you a meal or two, plus a bigger seat. The train was pretty empty last year, so people just seemed to crash in the nearest double they could find!

I booked direct with www.Eurostar.com

Both the seats I've chosen have UK power supplies. Not all of them do. You can choose your seat when you book.

Fingers crossed you get to sit next to 6 (openly) lesbian woman and dunx for the entire trip home.. as happened to me last year at the bash.
dont know if I'll make it this year though, Uni and all that, bad times.
But train is definately the option to take if you live in the south, 2 extra days for about £100 more inc lift pass, easy decision. And its empty enogh to get a lie down both ways as dunx already said.

You might get disappointed by Al, his name does not suggest what u think, well, I suggest u do Sidge instead Smile (If u don't Dan might do him)

So are there any deals for group bookings?
Damn, I just missed out on the lodge, it got full before I booked back on the 9th.

I'm travelling by train to for the simple reason of two extra days. I'm comming from the not so sunny Nottingham will be in London fairly early so if anyone fancy a drink at the pub in the afternoon would be great Smile.

So then, do those travelling on the evening train from London on Friday 16th want to meet up in a bar/pub for a few drinks? Not too far from the station so we can just walk over to our train when time comes Smile
