Does anyone know the current standing with airlines and boardbags, whether a 32kg bag with everything is allowed at the cost for board bag or is it 12/16 for the bag and 18/20 for suitcase - I've posted what is from their sites

EASYJET - Payment of additional hold bag fees does not increase each passenger's free baggage weight allowance of 20 Kg. Excess baggage charges will be payable at the airport if your hold baggage weighs more than 20 Kg in total.

BMIBABY - All baggage in excess of the checked baggage allowance at 18kgs* will be charged at the bmibaby excess baggage rate applicable as at the date of your flight. Can put stuff in with boardbag but cannot total more than 18kg per item - Allow to pool baggage allowance if on same reservations

Getting the Eurostar last year was excellent; quick, not too uncomfortable, good food, and gave us an extra days boarding t'boot.

Hopefully this year Dunx/Stu might have negotiated a bit of a discount with them to get the price down a bit (if we're lucky).

They weren't very keen at all last year, but we'll see. I hope to train it again this coming year.

Hopefully some more news on the WB soon. Just need Stu and John to sit down and hash the details out.

We don't get a discount and we have over 1500 people going... let me know if you do get one though...

That's for the Armed Forces Ski/Board week the same week isn't it? I guess if they're not giving them any discounts then it's unlikely we'd get one.
Shame really, as the train was no-where near being full last year...

It is Royal Navy Alpine Championships the week before and the week of the Bash... although it is mostly skiiers racing, although I think the park/boarder X may be closed for a couple of days but we should be able to come to some arrangement.

As we couldn't get discounts most people tend to fly so the train should still be fairly empty. Last year there were only about 30 people on it... although this did fill up the bar area. I'll make sure I keep Dunx informed of where we will be and what is happening.

Out of interest how many people went to the Bash last year?

I don't need to be kept informed of what's going on with the Armed Forces event. There's often events going on in resorts we visit and experience with the Brits, etc. leads me to believe it won't have much impact on our trip.

Other than all the ladies getting a lot of attention and never having to buy a drink all week...

fair enough... just thought you might want to know what days the parks are closed... either way it's a massive resort and I'm sure there will be plenty of snow/beer/chicks to go round.

Me thinks bigbigwatch has opened a can of SPAM!

Hopefully a Mod can delete their posts and block their account if they're gonna keep the spamming up...

Looking at the Eurostar website, if enough people (10 or more) were interested in getting the train Friday night and coming back Saturday night (getting eight days boarding in) we could put a request into their group bookings page and see what sort of deal they might cut us.

Currently the Eurostar Ski Train's standard fares are £149 (Standard) or £229 (Leisure Select) for a return journey. That's quite good for what you get on board the train, and might come down if enough people go.

Anyone interested in taking the train..?
