Hi
I've been riding a pair of F22W's for years love em - they look knackered but they are comfy, i suspect they starting to let water in but it's not a real prob yet,guy in shop today told me that if you can squish em all around they are not just knackered but dangerous...
I'm sure it's kosher advice but just want to make sure I don't fall for a sales tactic I just thought I should get a second opinion!
Cheers! |

Well if there letting water in then you will have cold soggy feet on a mountain which isnt advisable and could lead to frostbite, yeh they will be really comfy being nice and soft like old trainers but i doubt they will give you as much support as they should.
Is the support soft from side to side? if it is then it could lead to injury of mainly the ankle and also the boot wont be too responsive.
Id say if they still give good support of your foot then they be fine for indoors and dryslopes but on the mountain i wouldnt advise unless your not out for long. |

| If they're nearing or past 100 days of action, they're dead. Replace them. |

I wore an ancient set of Burton Boss Work boots forever - due to there comfort and worn-in feel - I even played a game of football in them once....
Eventually I decided to get a new pair (the weight saving alone was enough to convince me) because, like you, I kind of felt it was time. I've never even looked at the old boots since.
You know it makes sense. Get a new pair; just make sure they are a good fit. |
