My boyfriend and I are going to Bariloche in Argentina around 18th June for a week.

Has anyone been? Could you recommend somewhere (not too pricey) to stay? My boyfriend has all the kit but I don't - could anyone advise on a good rental equipment outlet + where I could get lessons?

And of course, any tips on good places around the area (or bars/restaurants) to visit whilst there would be fantastic.

Hope you can help.
Kath

My wife and I just got back from a 2 week trip to Argentina, and we spent a few days in Bariloche.
Unfortunately I cant give specific advice about accomodation but we stayed in a nice hotel (4*) for about £50 a night, and there is plenty to choose from (cant remember the name of ours though). There are also loads of hire shops about so you should have no trouble.
Theres loads of good bars and restaurants everywhere in the centre too, and food is really cheap. We never paid more than about £10 between us for meal with drinks.
If your budget can stretch, i would definitely try to spend a night at the Llao Llao hotel, 25km from Bariloche. Its one of the 'leading hotels of the world' and is supposedly Argentina's best hotel. We spent one night there and it really is 5* luxury. Its about £140 for a basic room, but a similar room in London with that level of service would be many times that. Its worth it just for the enormous buffet breakfast. Check it out at www.llaollao.com.
Not the most useful advice I'm afraid, but its a great town and I wish i was visiting in the winter!
