Ay up,
Just wondered if anyone here has tried the Spindeck, and if so what do you make of it?
I notice that SCUK members get 10% off, which is nice.
http://www.spindeck.co.uk/
I'm basically looking to improve my balance on rails etc, so any other tips would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Get the wii with the balance board and Shaun white snowboarding, you can hit all the pipes and rails you want then and it will improve your balance!
Did look at the spindeck myself but the I noticed you can buy a snowboard to sit ontop of your wii balance board so going to get that for £60 (not the same I know but still worth getting, lol). |

| make your own, not quite a spin deck but mad a balnace board from ply and a bit of old pipe, works a treat and equally as dangerous. |

| I have a spin deck & an indo board - the spin deck is loads of fun, but the indo board is much much better for balance & strength imo |

It seems like both the Indo board and Spin Deck are pretty pricey for what they are.
Why is the Indo board so much more though? Would you say it's worth the extra expense?
Cheers. |

Yeah, like phil said
or
Get a skateboard, take off the trucks and just put one of the trucks dead center on the board [you'll need to drill your own holes] |

ditto but use an old chair-leg with the skate-deck atm (probably just 'cos it was at hand and means a smaller fall). |

not really. mounting a set of trucks in the middle gives you a fixed pivot point. On an indo board the pivot/balance point can be rolled anywhere along the length of the board. meaning that if you adjust your weight right you can be balancing with the tube thing under your back foot or vica versa.
They are also pretty hard to get the hang of! |

I have one of these :
http://www.vewdo.com/cart/home.php
They aren't so cheap and probably hard to get over in the UK - but they are rad fun, great balance and exercise and beautifullly made !
If you want to make your own then the old skateboard deck, bike tyre inner tube (to make bindings) and length of piping works real well. |

That website has a nice design, the guy doing an olly on the board also has nice shoeees
and Neil, looking back on it I agree with you, i do think £70 is a bit much to pay for one of these things though |

| even using a pipe to balance still doesnt give you motion heel to toe like you get on a snowboard. a rectangle of flat wood and a solid rubber/plastic ball to roll on would be much better. but just to get started a deck and pipe would be a good start. |
