REVIEW: 'Signal - Hammer 08/09' Wide 155
Cost £350
- Good jibbin board for playing around on. Alot of fun in the park and takes on rails nicely.
- Has a mid-flex and pretty good pop. Ideal for butters, can hold manuals easily.
- Can handle the piste fairly well, but I think it lacks stiffness if to really carve - but not too much effort to keep steady at high speeds. Though I must say, ice is not this boards friend... and my edges aren't that blunted.
- It's pretty fun in the powder. I'm usually too lazy to change from a park set up for the powder, but it floats without needing to lean too far into your back leg.
- The edges are quite friendly so I'd say it's a good board for riders who have got the basics down but want a board to push into the intermediate territory and get abit more technical.
- I think the price is a touch on the expensive side, but I've really enjoyed the ride personally its been worth it.
- Durability is pretty good. I've been ridin it this season for 2 months (since mid-December) and only real problem is that last week the top layer by the tail started to splinter. I've hit a few rocks and tried learin tail tap reverts, so its quite possible this is a result of just pure abuse... *shrug* ... still, the base is pretty sturdy, like I said, I've hit a few rocks and only had one real bad gash that needed some attention.
