With all of the adverts, a typical page download is between 0.5 and 0.8 Meg. If the page has pictures, this can be much bigger. I get 250 Meg a month so am not too worried about the volume of data but the page load times, when reading on my phone or when using my phone as my modem, are really slow, even when on a cooking HSDPA connection.
Could we have a PDA mirror site, with no ads and just the top ten topics in the first page of each section? |

hey mate
thats not a bad idea but you have to remember that the technical side of the website is run by a couple of people in there sparetime, with little funding
at the minuet they are working on a major update to the forum so a PDA version wont be on the cards for a long time |

| Well, it is a possibility. At the end of the day it's just an alternative theme for the website, but that does take some time to develop. It's not currently high on our list of priorities, but we do appreciate that mobile surfing is getting very common these days. It'll also save some huge iPhone data bills we're expecting from the Winter Bash! |

Nearly £2 for every site click, at French data rates. |

Hey if you go to http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/PNphpBB2 ... max-1.html you can see just the forum fullscreen with just one advert at the top of the page. This can also be accessed by clicking the 'maximize' button on any forum page.
That works really well, nice one |
