Site is undergoing changes that might make it a bit faster.. or, who knows, a bit slower!

All discussed before. It's a popular site and we don't have the resources for server farms like Google - we get 20,000 page views a day.

It's a pretty standard phpBB2 forum, which we intend to keep, despite there being more integrated alternatives available for the CMS we use. A version of pnphpBB3 should be available for us at some stage this year, but who knows whether that will be faster or just more bloated. We'll certainly give it a try.

I got to agree - its the slowest of any of the Forums i use - but its made up for by having by far the friendliest user base.

TBH i dont spend nearly as much time on here as i used to because the speed gets annoying after a while

Dunx, don't know if you think it'd work, but what about a donate option?

A lot of webcomics i read (geeeeeeeeek) use that in order to pay for servers.

I'd donate a couple of quid a month to the site (how much do you get from the ads? everyone donating £1 a month...").

Of course, will people do it and do you want to is the question!

Just a thought
