Okay, I think we've decided to do it all again the same place, same time next year, so pencil it in your diaries.
Next year we will be having a strong word with God for more snow, but not until the night we arrive so there's no more nasty business with cancelled/redirected/delayed flights/transfers or road closures on the way home. We will be thanking him for holiday insurance though, which did cover all that.
We might also change the way we dealt with the freestyle coaching as this really just turned in to more guiding, but focusing on jumps, rather than proper tuition in the park. No idea whether anybody took up the Alliance Snowboard offer in resort, but perhaps we might work more closely with them next year or include it as a firmer option within the main Bash.
Otherwise, I think it'll be more of the same, but if you have any opinions, then this might be a good thread to start them in. |

Excellent idea! It'd be my fifth year in a row @ Tignes
As the overnight Eurostar train was at least 40% empty in both directions, and as it affords people eight days on the snow and the freedom from airport closures or long transfers, why not ask them if they'd like to do a deal on the price of a block-booking, getting the price down and the train fuller?
Despite the cost, I'll probably go by train again next year. |

I second that. I took the train this year (corail Lunea from Paris on the way up and then TGV/Eurostar to London on the way back) and I must say it was very comfortable. It's so quiet, no engine hums, no oversized luggage surcharge, lots of room to move about and I slept like a baby both ways.
The best part, if you miss a day train or a transfer, there's always another one in a hr. |

The hidden valley only exists on Tuesdays and Thursdays you know.
I know Si Brass has some contacts with Eurostar and we did approach them late in the day. We'll see what we can do this year in advance.
I agree it was the way to travel (once I'd worked out how to recline the seats) and the two extra days were a real bonus. |
