I'm not but I recognise most of them. Are you Dan??
I preferred it when they had the ramp out on the nursery slope. I learned to spin 360s on that because I never had the balls to try it on dendix. Used to have somone's car parked up behind the cafe for tunes too. Good times. |

Inspired by this thread, like a few others I too scuttled off to my local dry slope (well local to my parents anyhow).
I went to tallington, here's my review:
took my old board with me, they suggested that the slope may harm it and I should ride a hire board instead so I left it behind their rental counter and toddled out to the slope with a well maintained hire board (more on the bindings later).
Crumbs is that dendix hard to ride!!! heel to toe same as snow but toe to heel, couldn't get an edge to save my life! The bindings on the hire board were absolute shockers, knackered old flows with over a hands width of space between my boot and the highback! Asked them if they could do anything about them but they couldn't so got my own board out and risked it. no damage suffered to the board thank goodness.
It was way better but still I was struggling with the toe to heel, need to alter my technique a bit for dendix I think.
the only areas of matting that looked like it needed replacement were in the high traffic areas just at the top and bottom of the lift.
They don't appear to have any freestyle stuff any more and tbh the slope is relatively narrow to put much out on anyhow. Would only be able to have 1 line of toys out and then there would be very little space to ride past if you weren't hitting a feature if that makes sense.
I may return to fight the dendix again as its a third of the travelling time from here to cas and costs less but not till the bruises on my knees - which are entirely branny's fault for starting this thread! - are healed up. |

I'm pretty sure that Ski Rossendale got a big lottery grant not long ago, but I've not seen much improvement before & after so I don't know where the money went...?
Surely if they covered the last of the slope that's still Dendex it would make a big difference? That and get the sprinkler systems working properly and efficiently and it would still have a small place in the market - I know snowflex is expensive but come on... we're not going to pay for the last bit ourselves after you had a lottery grant and didn't do much with it...
Or am I being financially niave? |
