1) this: http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/index.ph ... p;p=484963
2) where's good to ride: Eeverywhere, depends what you like really but Palafour is the most poplular run, if the weather is bad bead down to the Breviere trees,
3) where's good to drink? Loop Bar or Baggus Bar in Le Lac and Crowded House and TC's in Val Claret
4) is the swatch park any good? Passable. depends how big you like your kickers and features, has a terrible slow long drag to access it though
5) where should I avoid: Depends what kind thing you like and dont like?
6) is it worth going to Val D? Yes it is, Tignes is way big enough for a week but its silly not to make the most of the runs in Val, i prefer Val to Tignes |

Nick, thanks for the advice.
I'm a bit anit-Val because there's a massive comp on so I'm expecting half the runs to be shut or uberbusy. That's making me wonder whether I'd be better off drinking the 30 quid pass difference.
Good to know I can get back from the Val park, but I like my kickers quite small anyway so might just end up building our own or spending a lot of time on a long slow drag...
Any good powder spots? What are those unpisted black runs like? and is sache passable on a board?
Thanks again |

i liked Piste H from the top of the aeroski down to val claret and the double M. both where fun and lots of opportunities to wander off the edge of piste for powdery fun.
3) where's good to drink
Bagus. and the one one the edge of the lake with the circular roof more or less opposite the dragon lodge (3.5 euro a pint) but forget its name
4) is the swatch park any good?
its not bad at all. the kickers are nicely shaped but the poma up is a ball killer
5) where should I avoid
6) is it worth going to Val D?
the Val Park is wonderful. |

| If you have a day to kill and i mean i day you should head over to the le fornet then all the way up to the glaicier over that side. A few of us did that on our last day and it was amazing. Just becareful of time else you wont be able to make it back in time. But if you want an all day mission its definately worth (the hassle?!?). |

Thanks for the advice. I did go over to that glacier, twice. Powder there was amazing. I spent a day off piste with 6 guys from Preston I met on the chair (if you're reading this, hi!)
Quicker the second time. It took ~45mins to get there by taking the olympique bubble down (thus avoiding the sh*tty, crowded, icy, slow, flat santons run) into Val D and straightlining everything else.
We got back by nailing it down to Fornet, free bus back to Val D, fight through the world champs skiing crowds and olympique & tommeuses back up in less than an hour.
Col des Ves lift was slow and f-ing freezing but worth it.
Swatch park was just the right scale for me. I ditched the lift where it crosses the park so only half-crushed my knackers.
Piste H was cool.
The unpisted blacks were all tons of fun with all the snow we had.
Beer is really expensive there!
And for future reference, you can get on tommeuses on a Tignes pass but get the EK one! |
