beware. the following may not make some people smile.
the bash.
i had a fantastic holiday. the mountains, the snow, my friends. all as good as it was possible to be. i wish i was there with them now.
john dragon.
never in my entire life will i take part in anything that has his name attatched to it.
i am typing this from a hotel in edinbugh. (was meant to be home in sheffield) because my transfer was feck up so much i missed my flight home.
i am not going to go into all the other things i consider he did wrong because i am tired and hungry and just dont have the time nor patience to start the list. |

| Seems like our transfer was the only one to take so long, the 1pm transfer arrived only about 30mins after us (taking about 3 hours compared to our 6 ish!) and well before their flights. I guess the traffic was because everyone leaves their chalets around the 10am check out time. |

Sad to read that mini.mansell, I've heard nothing but praise for JD (that's John Dragon, not Jack Daniels!) and all the work he has put in, both during the run up and the week itself.
You have to try and consider that trying to put up, sort transfers, lift passes, beer cards and info packs for nearly 100 people, most of whom probably have never been to Tignes before, is one hell of a task and sadly not everything can go right even with the best laid plans.
Sounds like you had a tough day, I'm sure you can recoup any costs through your insurance as this is why we take it out, though I'm also sure this is beside the point for you, third party transfers are always risky, you can't blame john for another companies short comings... |

I also was on that transfer but was not sure what the problem was as i was hungover and sleeping I think the driver went on a different road and ran out of hours ect , (would have thought that there might have been 2 drivers) but i wouldnt just blame it on one person John from the lodge was 100% helpfull to me on the phone and emails ,the coach was 3rd party ect, and apart from that my holiday was brilliant i met lots of new ppl and alot of ppl were really friendly and helpfull , so thanks for that
P.s If anyone knows how to go about claiming back expenses due to the transfer messing up can u give me a pm ive never done it
cheers parky |

Sorry but i have to say it. You have to be the most ungratefull person i have met, Something went wrong, fait enough thats annoying, but that guy spent the entire week stressed out after after doing so much to make everything run smoothly...for 90 people, not just you. You have no idea and all you seemed to do was complain all week in a very loud obnoxious voice. If your transfer went wrong then that is very unfortunate and im sure he wold be very sorry about it. But A) how can you hold one man responsible for the dodgy transfer driver who worked for a reputable transfer company. And B) if you had a bad journey then maybe take it up with the people involved privately rather than feeling the need to slag a very helpfull, friendly and popular man off n an internet forum, Sorry but that just makes you seem like a coward. This thread has made me so so angry you have no idea, i knew you would end up having some sort of negative thing to say on here when you got back, the way you spoke all week made it inevitable. In fact it was one of the reasons i spent so little time in the lodge, because you seemed to take over the place by constantly talking over everyone and complaining in a very self important way.
Good you have said your piece and its your personal opinion and you are intitled to it, but in that case it is also just my opinion that you should realise you weren't the only person John had to help out last week and you aren't the center of the universe. |

Well just to say we had an awesome week - except for Sarah's double broken leg! And John D was a legend from start to finish - so many thanks
And nice to meet up with y'all
And well done to the rest of 'Shall We' with which we came 2nd in the quiz - beaten only by the single point Stu gave to the gold pants of Team Pants! |

mini....you need to wind your neck in!
John did a fantastic job organizing the week, he was on the phone every 5 minuets sorting out stuff for us! he looked quite stressed a lot of the time.
everyone i've spoken to holds him in a very high regard, and everyone seems to have an excellent time in Tignes
also dunx and the SCUK team spent a lot of time sorting stuff out too, and not for any profit either
they all do it to make sure that we have a good time, if things happen that they cant control then even if its not there fault they will try to sort it out for us
the transfer company that was booked was a reputable firm, it didnt help that when the coach turned up everyone just threw their bags in the hold and got on the bus...then sat there and myself, Dawn, Adam and the driver had to unpack it as quite a few bags didnt fit in, so the bus a late leaving!
The next part of this post is my own opinion and if what i have to say leads to me losing my moderator status, then so be it but I feel that i have to say it...
Mini - you are an ahole, i'm quite glad i only had to put up with you for less then 15 minuets of the hole week.
from what i understand you all you did was complain in the loudest voice possible, about everything
I'd like to see you try to organize a week long holiday for 90+ people.
After your comments at the start of this thread, if I ran this website i would give you a refund of your membership and ban you for life!!
and for anyone of thinks that mini is a good guy and a friend of theres...you really need to get out more!! |

| Dragon Lodge don't even do transfers, normally every other week of the year they dont get involved in them its up to the clients to sort them out themselves. However, John put it all that extra work (for no extra charge) in order to book transfers for every one of us. He even got up at 5 am twice to go and pick people up himself for god sake. You could quite easily have booked a transfer yourself and the same thing could have happened and it would have been your responsability. But no, they guy does you, and all of us, a favor and you slag him off on a public forum when it goes wrong through no fault of his own. I think you may well have just lost any shred of respect anyone on here still had you for. |

we all owe JD a huge amount of respect, i wasn't in the lodge, i didn't even see that much of him but i have no doubt that this was due to him sorting out everyones niggles and answering questions!
Rob, i couldn't agree with you more and would also suggest you lock and maybe delete this thread otherwise it's gonna turn into a slagging match...
mini, you are a grown man and should really have more respect for peoples feelings and efforts, i find your comments very offensive and inconsiderate and at the very least think you need to change your original comments to reflect more accurately who is actually at fault here! |

| Opinion only has one 'p' in it. Other than that I think this thread is possibly the best thing I've ever read on this forum. I might have to go on the next bash to see if I can get you guys to hate me as much as mini! |

| when we arrived at tignes john was no where to be seen. We never recieved our welcome pack. We had to practically nag for our loop card. We didnt get our welcome meal because of some problem. And we had to carry our stuff back to the loop on last day. If i pay for a transfer i pay door to door. For those who had it good. You have no idea. For those of up with problems it was bad. John is entirely responsible for the coaches. He arranged them. I paid him my cash. The buck stops at him. |
