Its EHIC Card if you don't have one phone them up andgive them your details. They will post you one. Tell them you go away on saturday and they will give you an emergency phone number to contact in case of emergency with your NATIONAL INSURANCE number. Remember insurance in most cases only covers what your EHIC card doesn't.

yes, yes, yes! you must get one.. !
obviously it's not illegal not to, but you really should as it means (i think) that you are entitled to NHS style hospital care etc for free.. otherwise you may have to pay.
you can fill it in online, takes about 3 minutes.. and get the emergency number to take in your wallet as the card won't get to you in time.
they send permanent cards now I think.. so you just keep it for the year, or however long it covers.. |

The card is important
without the EHIC you may have to pay the cost then claim off the insurance.
As a matter of course I also get myself a local carte neige (i think) when i get my lift pass, its about 15 euro more or something. But it does cover any costs of getting u off the mountain.
So with my EHIC, scuk insurance and the carte neige i feel Ive covered every base. |

If you do it online or need to resort to the phone, you get the policy emailed to you straight away, so last minute is fine.
For future reference, you're much better off getting it sooner as then you're also covered if you need to cancel for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately "college won't let me" is not one of them. You sorted then Sidge? |
