A little background on myself. I have only started snowboarding last season, and I have spent a bit over 3 weeks on snow by now. I knew it was a bit of a reach for me to ride the Uninc, since it's meant to be an "Advance" board.
As for the board itself, amazing graphics, a major reason why I have bought this board. I would have love to get the Burton Love, but then it wouldn't be appropriate to take it to family or company ski trips. The board glows in the dark (doesn't make a difference during the day, but it scares the sh1t out of you when you go pee at night ;P) The flex is relatively stiff, but it has a softer head and tail for jibbing, they also have the scoop shape (like a spoon) which makes it easy to spin on the head and tail. I have paired it up with the Uninc EST bindings.
My first trip with Uninc - Cervinia in Nov, 2008
There wasn't much snow, the condition was a bit icy. The Uninc handled the icy condition extremely well. At that time, I was learning how to ride switch and I had decided the best thing to do is to ride switch for the whole day. And god that was a horrible experience. I fell so hard like I just started learning to snowboard, the Uninc was not forgiving at all. I was catching edge for the entire day. But the punishment had paid off, I have no problem riding switch at all, and I can go relatively fast doing it. But that was painful.
Learning tricks on the Uninc was a ok experience. It wasn't as easy as the Skate Banana, which I can easily do all sort of stuff. But Uninc forces me to manovuer the board correctly, I believe this is a good thing to me, but again, painful
My second trip - La Clusaz Dec 2008
I had gotten used to the Uninc, I have started to ride faster and faster with it. No problem bombing down the red at all, lots of control, the board felt extremely lively and easy to turn. But I tend to hurt myself a bit when my legs get tired, again, Uninc is not forgiving. I also have a bit of problem holding the board bent, as the board is quite stiff... or maybe I just need to bend it more to break it in.
Very stable of the jumps as well, I hadn't attempt any rails as I was told to more difficult with the Uninc. So I thought I should get more well prepared first.
Built quality
I was abit disappointed at the quality of the board, it' dings and dents quite easily. My top sheet cracked for no apparent reason. Maybe something to do with the glow in the dark top sheet. Anyhow, I have sent it to Burton and see if I get a replacement for it.
Conclusion
This is a very good board for people who know what they are doing. If you play tennis, it's like playing with federer's racquet. You may not use it to its potential, but it will punish and teach you how you are suppose to do, do it the right way.
