Fernie's great! Totally lovin it, the 29ft house is amazing, its massive with a great kitchen, plenty of space, really looking forward to meetin u guys that will be staying here! The house has pretty much got everything you need, a few dvd's would be good if anyone's thinking of bringing some, they've got a fair few here but I'm sure we'll get throught them once everyone's here.

The job fair was yesterday and to be honest wasn't all that great. A few of my mates went up and queued for 2 1/2 hours only to find that the jobs had already gone and they had gone up to the mountain for the start of the fair. The town job fair is on Nov 12th though so all is not lost.

No snow since we've been here, it snowed last wed but all that's melted now, the mountain looks gorgeous with a little dustin of snow.

Where abouts is the 29feet house? I keep hearing about it but have no idea where you are? How many of you will be living there? Went to see a few people who are staying in the central Hotel for the season, that a really nice set up! all be recently renovated. If anyone looking for a place to stay when they get ere check it out.

The job fair was soooo crappy organised! I managed to get a line cook in the day lodge! Ski pass sorted out!! Awesome. Lots more people in town now so bars are starting to get busier! Should be great come end of November! If anyone fancies meeting up for a beer let me know and we can arrange something.

Happy to hear the house is good. Smile I can bring some DVDs but if the TV has a VGA port that be a lot easier, or S-video. That way we can hook up a laptop. Cant wait to get out there, still havent booked flight tickets though, haha. How many people does the house actually sleep?

Shame about the job fair and the snow being gone. Should plenty of jobs going in town though right? Good luck with finding one!

Hey, yea people are still here! The town is starting to pick up now, bars starting to have things going on in the evenings and people always out. Snowed a bit last week, and the forecast is for about 10cm this week i think all on track for opening early December. Where you sorted out acc? There's still a lot available round town so you won't have a prob there.

Totally love Fernie.. Spent two seasons there. Awesome hill with some amazing riding to be had. Some of the best powder I have ever experienced and the partying in town has been known to be wild at times. The best bit being that Canadians are some of the friendliest people I have met!

If your going early season take a rock board or buy a cheap second hand one as it will get trashed. Regarding phones, we got a PC Mobile phone from Extra Foods (the larger superrmarket out by Canadian Type and MacDonalds). It was a cheap pay as you go but be warned that you have to pay for incoming phone calls in Canada!

Hey guys , i've landed in Fernie!!Took a 22 hour greyhound bus from Vancouver....what an adventure!!I'm living in West Fernie , near where the guys have their home make rails , pretty cool.

I got a Bell solo phone , its pay monthly , not a cool phone by any means but it worked out about $25 per month , free international & national texts 24/7 which is great. You can get unlimited incoming calls for an extra $10 a month. You will have to buy the phone aswell , $75 is the cheapest (you get a deal if you buy in a group). They are sim free aswell so you can't use your own phone.

Job hunting must start next week , people have been saying that there won't be much about until the season starts.

Staying in tonight , but give me a heads up when people are heading for a few drinks.

Hey guys,

I know this post is couple of years old but just wondering what your impressions with fernie were, and specifically how 29 feet was to live in? in terms of people/location/house!

Be great if any of you guys that stayed there could give me some info, heading over there in november and trying to suss out some accommodation!

Cheers,

James
