The coaches are out on the slope from 7-9 usually. Just head up to one and tell them what you want to learn. You can start out with ollies (if you don't know how to do them yet) as they're the building block for a whole world of carnage.
All the coaches are really chilled but it is an informal session so they're not gonna come up to you, you need to let them know what you want to learn.
Do it, it's brilliant fun and you'll surprise yourself. Remember that helmets are compulsory on the toys and definitely worth investing in some impact shorts. |

I think it's best to start with either an easy box or a very small kicker that you can just ride over without having to jump.
Some of my friends who I ride with have only just started to link turns and they are already going over the boxes slowly..
It's just confidence and I think once you do the first thing you will just keep going back for more...
Do you know anybody into freestyle who can spend an hour taking you round the park? It's always nice if you have someone with you to laugh with if you fall off.. |

| Im no pro but i agree with gem83, start of small and simple and you will progress as your confidence grows. Nothing is easy to start with at first but a lot of the fun is learning. |

Thanks guys. Went to MK for the snow show, met Ash and Gary, even got a free lesson from them. Looking at the kids on the freestyle sloping, I doubt i will be joining them on Thursday night. :p
Is it just me or what? I felt MK is a bit too steep for learn ground tricks on.. |

I know what you mean, MK isn't the smoothest slope..
But.. if you master it on the steeo bits then you will be awesome in the flat.. the bottom of the slop is best for it being flatter..
The good thing about MK is there are loads of lumps and bumps, which means you can really get used to ollying off of everything! & also riding fast in MK is good because you really do get used to the choppiness of the slope..
Just keep going, you might be best just enjoying your riding, getting used to ollying and doing a few spins, switch etc..

Hi guys,
We have just agreed to run a series of weekned course at Milton Keynes dedicated to Freestyle. You can come for one or two days. There will be a beginners and advanced programme, so there should be something for everybody. The courses will run on the following dates:
1st & 2nd November
6th & 7th December
31st & 1st February
28th & 1st March
4th & 5th April
It will be £99 for one day or £199 for two. That fee includes all your slope time. Places are limited, so places are on a first come first served basis.
To book a spot go to:

See you there.
