damn right! do some research and figure out what type of riding your mostly using it for. you can get two good boards for £600. 1 for indoor/dryslope riding and 1 for the mountains. or 1 for the park and 1 for powder. however u wana look at it. but dont go throwin your cash away in buying the most expensive board on the market as its not neccesarily the best board for u!

dont let it be a case of 'more money than sense'

test ride all the boards u like and see how u get on.

I hope this is a joke.

Just because it's expensive doesn't make it good (the Vapor proves that in spades). Plus many high-end boards are made for specific disciplines and can really hurt you if you're not skilled enough.

What is it you're hoping an expensive board will achieve? Also, describe your snowboarding experience and preferred style/terrain.

palmer platinums suck eggs and so does flying tomato boy!!!!!!

get a nice freestyle board around the 340 range an some bindings in the 150-60 area and then whatever boots suit your foot type, save the rest of your dolla for slope time (or alchohol, eithers good)

i like riding really fast and ollie-ing off stuff. My riding is pretty good. i can get about two seconds of air off some jumps and i can slide some pretty long rails. I want a board long enough to surf in the powder too though.

there are loads of good boards that tick those boxes so it really is a case of whatever u feel u can do those things best with. test some out and see for yourself.

Sounds like you're the nuts. Rolling Eyes

Seriously kid, do you know what 2 seconds is actually like? How many weeks do you have riding? (a week is at least six consecutive days)

Well it sounds like you want a board that does everything. The problem with "jack of all trades, master of none" boards is that they are just that. If you wanted to spend lots of money for a status board then go for a Concept UL. It's expensive and relatively decent at everything.

Of course you did mention that the 600 was for an entire setup, which begs the question, what bindings and boots are you on?

ha ha. what makes you think I'm a kid!! you condescending prick!

I work in the snowboarding media and I live in colorado full time.
I'm just testing to see how many idiotic scene-agers reply to my post with patronizing crap. No wonder the british scene has a rep for being elitist and snobby!
I'm well aware of how many days there are in a fecking week and I also know how long two seconds is!

Thank you very much to those of you who actually replied with potentially helpful information.

1. I'm American and not "down" with the British scene.

2. Read the thread again. You'll find that I was the most helpful of the lot. I was the only one that qualified the type of riding and suggested a board that was in-line with the request.

3. Why the surprise about my patronizing you? You posed as a spoiled idiot child. I replied in kind. You crafted a post to illicit a certain response, and you got it. Congratulations!

4. If you were really just "testing" why did you get so upset when I took a couple shots at a supposedly "misguided" person?

Grow up.

i can see this turning into another argument...

likeyourbeanie - so you not a kid and you work in snowboarding full time and know all there is to know right, so your just asking questions that you know will get a reaction....and then having a go at people for reacting!!
if you just here to cause argument then your not really wanted!

and contrary to common belief the SCUK forum-ites dont hate newbies...we just dont like people who just want to cause trouble(it just happens that they usually are the new people!)

so lets all play nice shall we!
