Hi,
Sorry to start a new thread, but i've asked on the others and no-one seems to know..

What time are the transfers gonna be? Or are they just gonna sort it out once everyone books?

I just want to book my flights..

[DUNX says: All the transfer info is on the WB09 page http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/events-wb09.html#travel ]

Lyon to Tignes - 3h 30m
Geneva to Tignes - 4hrs

Taken from tour operator websites.

Think Bourg st Maurice to Tignes is around 40mins.

*EDIT* ignore this, I thought you were on about duration.

Yeah, thought the 4 hrs was a bit odd. They (Inghams) list it as 180km, which would mean averaging around 30mph.

Should do it in around 2 hours.

Then again, from Crystal.

Chambery 2hrs 30mins
Lyon & Grenoble 4 hrs
Geneva 4 hrs
Snow Train (Bourg St. Maurice) 50 mins

7 hours if you did what I did. I followed the sat nav which got me about 15min away from tignes but then it turns out that road is closed from nov onwards so had to double back and go the proper way.

I would say 3 hours max

depends on the size of the bus. A full size coach you can easily add an hour due to tight bends and having to take them slow to make it. Plus they have to wait till cars pass as they would collide

Its not 2 and a half hours and its not 4 hours, as i said in another thread ive done that journey 8 times in the last two seasons and its between 3 and 4 hours depending on traffic, usually just over 3 in a mini bus.

They will work out transfer pickups later once everyones booked, But dont expect to book an evening flight and still get picked up!

I call BS on that statement. Markland how many times have you done the transfer in 2 and half hours?

I like Nick have done that journey countless times and 3 hours would be a good time and quite possible by car / mini bus being driven hard with no major traffic, around 3 and a half even 4 hours would be about average

Perhaps the thread should have started with. "Only people who have actually taken the trip from Geneva to Tignes need reply"

I have also done the trip a number of times for the last 3 seasons.

In a Taxi with very clear roads did it in 3 hours. (We did go some random way which I had never been)

On the Public Bus an average of around 3hrs 45mins. Although one time it took 6 HOURS because of an accident!!! That was not fun.

I personally have never found it a major grind or issue and time does fly knowing that in a few short hours you will be reunited with the snow.
