I'm looking to get a lodge and just pack it with mates and enjoy my first snowboarding trip here in scotland. Does anyone have any good companies they can recommend that do log cabins that are in relatively close distance to the slopes. I was planning on going to aviemore but will appreciate any suggestions for trips elsewhere.
Cheers. |

| The problem with booking to early is that the snow cover might be crap or the slopes are closed due to stormy weather. Any time we go to Aviemore we tend to go at the spur of a moment when the conditions are good just go and catch it when its good. Keep an eye on www.winterhighland.info for weather and snow reports. Also first hand info from other snowboarders and skiers in the forums which is really good. We normally use laterooms.com to find bargain accommodation. Had too many wasted journeys when we first started by booking way in advance and finding the hill shut. |

you can find somewhere near fort william for about 15quid a head a night, can ride either nevis range or glen coe from there.
Although i tend to jus race up in the mornin depending on whats expected to open, its only 3 hrs to nevis or aviemore from dundee or glasgow if you aint scared of the road an know the speed cameras |

| Thanks for the advice. Think I might try spur of the moment then. Its means less effort for now which suits me just fine. |

| Glenmore Lodge has a number of log cabins sleeping 6 and larger ones sleeping 12. The closest your going to get to CairnGorm, but not so good for the night life, though there is a bar on site. |
