looking at going away with a few mates who only have a few hours snowdome riding under their belts so thinking about a cheapy deal somewhere good for beginers so they can experience a real terrain.
looking online and found a good bargain to Rauris.
just wondering if anyone has been there and if so what its like for intermediate to advanced riders and off snow activities.
thanks

Rauris is pretty quiet. It'll be great on the slopes for beginner/intermediates, although there are only a few runs. The lifts are good, not too crowded. You can get out of town and daytrip to Zell Am See and Kaprun for a change of scenery.
Apres-ski is pretty poor to be honest; when I went, you could count the bars on one hand and they tended to be very quiet, or full of 13-year-old Austrians getting hammered on spritzers.
Hand on heart, I'd say you could probably do better than Rauris but despite the above, me and my intermediate pals had a laugh when we went. |

to be fair, i went there last year to learn and had an awesome time! met some really good people, not much terrain but then if youre leasrning you dont need much. good instructors, a couple of great bars, lots of jagermeister!!
very pretty place and very good value, but if youre not a beginner, then this will become boring. |

I can't disagree about the prettiness. Also, it's SPOTLESS. And I can still taste the Jagermeister!
Ian, take a look on YouTube for "rauris", there's a few vids (including ours, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_SCJVVJjvk) so you can see what to expect. |

thanks for the replies guys, just in the process of seeing what else is available in the price range now but its looks lovely in some of the vids on you tube although as you both say not too challenging for the advanced riders.
lots of jagermeister gets my vote though jagerbombs all round |
