Hey
Trying to work out how much it would cost if I did not work. Can't work in Canada as I'm too old, 35.
I could work as a driver guide in Les Arcs or should I go to Canada
How much do you think I would need for a season in Canada 5 - 6k?
Cheers
Marc |

i can only talk about whistler, spending money about 5k a place to stay could be about 2k or 3k lift pass £700 for the season, flights £400ish
have a look as http://www.seasonaires.com/ to get an idea of cost of a shared chalet. |

| the only reason i spent 5k was because i brought a board, jacket 2x pants and also a fair bit of drinking. depending on how much you go out and what you buy you could spend less. |

Yeah I'm not very good at spending less. I suppose I could take 1k for the gear you got.
Do you know any places like seasonit for Japan? |

There are cheaper resorts in Canada than places like Whistler that offer just as much fun, tons of snow and amazing terrain!
Check out Fernie and Red Mountain as two prime examples.
Fernie is a fantastic all round resort and you won't help but fall in love with it, not only that they are known to record amounts of snow - 11m this year (and it's still snowing!)
Red Mountain is smaller in scale than Fernie but has an amazing 360 degree mountain to ski on, pick any line, piste or tree run and you'll have a great time! It's pretty challenging too, not much beginner stuff and very empty slopes.
Have a peek at our websites as well, you never know you might like what you see and come to Canada with us! You can even work in Canada after you have spent a season there, you simply need to get sponsorship.
Let me know if you want any more information.
Good Luck! |

I would go somewhere there is a shorter season and is a bit more off the map; red mountain, revelstoke, Kicking Horse,...if you are on a tight budget a bit of partying will totally throw you off budget.
Also, a resort that has a shorter season, whistler/banff have 7 month seasons which might be a stretch for 5k unless you are working, but you will be a top rider by the end. |

Tomahawk is right. Revelstoke is amazing, it has got a good few years until it becomes Whistler standard (there is still only 3 lifts!) But the terrain there is fantastic.
Red Mountain is the place to be if you want to ski hard and 'apres' later... Check out http://www.nonstopski.com/resorts/red-mountain/ for more details on Red Mountain |
